Please explain to me how it works. I've been to disney before, but my mother took care of all the meal stuff. Now I am going with just by boyfriend, and I am wondering how the system works..some restaurants take more from it than others? Help!

Lets say your going to disney for 4 nights and 5 days. Each person in your group gets 4 table service meals, 4 counter service meals and 4 snacks. (Since your staying 4 nights at your resort) For each table service, everyone in your group gets an appetizer each, a main course, a dessert and a non alcoholic drink. If its a buffet, you each get the buffet and non alcoholic drink. For counter service, you get a main course, a dessert and drink (at breakfast, you don't get a dessert). For a snack, you can get a soda, water, popcorn, chips, or pretty much anything under $4. (Look for the small purple DP icon showing you can purchase as a snack.) The food credits will be put on your room card and you'll get a receipt with the remaining credits on it. Children must eat kids meals. The credits expire on midnight the day you check out so be sure to plan ahead and use them all up.
You can use each credit whenever you feel like it during your vacation. If you want to use 2 table service on 1 day, you can. If you want to use 4 snacks in 1 day, you can- however you want. Remember to make table service reservations in advance. My family loves the dining plan and we think its worth it if your not picky eaters.

i think the ddp is great.... it includes a snack, a counter service and a table service for each day. Because the DDP has become so popular alot of the places around the park now show a little :ddp: sign next to what you can get and whats included...
For each night of your package you get
One Table-Service Meal
Includes appetizer, entree, dessert (except at breakfast), or full buffet, and non-alcoholic beverage (gratuity/service charges included.
One Counter-Service Meal
Includes entree, dessert (except at breakfast), or one complete combo meal, and non-alcoholic beverage
One Snack
Such as frozen ice cream, box of popcorn, single piece of whole fruit, or soda...
imo: you should check out the menu boards on here or go to the disney website and check out the dining finder and you can get an idea of places to go to... also, make sure you book your reservations... some places book up really fast!!
Have a great time and eat lots! :)
