It's probably been asked, but I'll ask again! :)
We are renting from a DVC owner, so we don't have a package. Is there any way we can still get the dining plan? We've been looking into it and are thinking of trying it this time around.

I believe so. Starting April 1 DVC members will now be able to add the dining plan on to their stay (no ticket requirement). I do believe that the owner has to make the arrangements for you and you have to pay for it at checkin. All members of your party must participate in the dining plan. I'm assuming this is also true for those renting points from members. However, I don't believe this is true for folks booking DVC hotels through regular channels (i.e., rack rate, AP discount, AAA discount).

Yes contact your renter. They should be able to book it for you if your stay is after April 1st.

Unless something has changed since Jan. 3rd, when they began booking the dining plan for DVC, you don't have to contact the member. I am also renting points for an October trip and was able to make my own dining plan arrangements with DVC Member Services. If your reservation is already made, the DVC member should have sent you the confirmation letter. At the bottom is the number for Member Services. I called to confirm my ressie in my name. While on the phone with the CM, I asked if I could add the dining plan or if the member had to. I was able to do it myself. They don't require a credit card or anything. It's just paid upon check in. I'm excited, as this is a great extra perk to go with a great rate for a DVC resort!

Enjoy planning your trip!
