OK! We never done the dinning plan, and we do spend lots of money on food with 1 teen and 2 kids, so maybe some of you with kids can help me out. Do you save money with the plan? The kids like it? Can we do character meals?

Thanks :thumbsup2

I am assuming you are a family of 5 with 3 over 10yo. So the cost of the plan is around $135. Do you usually spend that much per day at WDW?

If you normally dine at TS restaurants, do not have any type of discount on your room & need park tickets then yes the dining plan is "worth" it.

And yes character meals are included & count as (1) TS credit.

There is a dining plan sticky at the top of this board that may help.

Thank YOU!
Well, yes we can spend that if we do Breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner and some snacks.

We have 5 children and pour 2 oldest (17~14) love the dining plan the most! It is soo much easier not to have to budget money for meals and we saved a bunch of money!

Okay another crazy question but its me and my 3 kids (5,7,8). The girls will do fine with the plan but my DS (5) doesn't eat like his sisters at all. Matter of fact we almost have to force feed him. Can I do the DDP for the 3 of us and not him? :confused3

Our kids loved the dining plan as much as we did. dd10 liked being able to order from the adult menu, and both she and ds7 really got a kick out of being able to order an appetizer and their own desserts (we rarely order dessert in restaurants, and if we do its always something to share). They were both also very willing to try new things since even though we explained that we had paid for the package they didn't feel like they were wasting money, and they pretty much liked everything they tried.

Everyone on the reservation needs to be on the dining plan.

While you do all have to have the dining plan, think of things like character meals where everyone there pays whether they eat much or not. (Family style or buffet.) That right there pays for the dining plan for the day for that child. And with my picky eater I figure I will not be worried if he doesn't actually eat his meal as it would have cost me the same amount for the day if I hadn't ordered it for him. Kind of a backwards logic, but it helps in my thinking.

Thanks for feedback and you are right. It would still come out cheaper for me to add him cause no matter what he eats for the day the dining plan is still gonna win, especially with the character meals. Thanks again. :thumbsup2
