Dining Plan with AAA discount

I am currently in the process of making a reservation for our upcoming trip. I talked to a AAA travel agent and she quoted me a price for a Magic Your Way Package plus dining, with a stay at a moderate resort. When I called the Disney reservation line to compare, the CM said that the dining plan is not available with the AAA discount. I explained what my AAA agent had told me, but he insisted that I could not add the dining option while using a AAA discount on a Magic Your Way package. Does anyone know anything about this?

It's a rather technical issue. AAA can offer AAA packages that include the Dining Plan. They are even sometimes less expensive than the comparable package available from Disney directly.

That's NOT the same as calling Disney and having them apply a AAA discount to one of their packages with the Dining Plan -- that's what is not allowed.

You can only get a AAA discount on a package deal by booking through AAA. This cannot be done by calling Disney directly.

However, you can book a room-only reservation with a AAA discount directly through Disney.

Is this the free dining plan, if so they can't give you the room discount. If you are paying for the DDP you should be able to get the room discount I think 20% off the rack.
Both last year and this year we planned our trip for Sept. before the free DDP plan was offered and had the room discount but when the free DDP came out we added the free DDP and lost the room discount. But with free dining we came out ahead.
Keep reading the board and you will know more then your AAA agent.

When I called the Disney reservation line to compare, the CM said that the dining plan is not available with the AAA discount...

What's missing from the statement is ...when booking through Disney directly.

Disney reservations can not book the dining plan with the AAA discount. They actually can't book any packages with a AAA discount. They can only book room only with a AAA discount.

To get any kind of package (Magic Your Way with or without Dining) and get the AAA discount, you have to book through a AAA TA.

We've now booked two separate trips (just returned on Tuesday) with AAA and with the DDP. By going through AAA, we saved about $400 off the CRO rate. You can certainly get the AAA discount on the room portion of a package if you deal with AAA directly. Disney cannot do this for you.

Also, if there are any other discounts out there, like free dining or discounted rooms, they often will beat the AAA rate, but that depends on when you're going and what's available.

You can only get AAA Disount package thru AAA. AAA Room only without dining options can be booked thru WDW Travel.
