Dining Plan Thread

At the risk of getting myself the "dreaded points" ....

Am I the only one who would like MORE then the one mega thread? I know the mods have great intentions, but what we know have is an 18 page thread. At this point it becomes impossible for folks to find info unless they want to spend a few hours trying to read it... (which most of us don't)

So the thread becomes repeats of the same questions and responses... I think it's a good intention, but I am not sure it works..... maybe just let the threads go????

The one post was an attempt to confine the 2008 announcement.... outburst .

But I agree that questions are getting lost in the I love this plan/I hate this plan responses. Let me talk to the other mods and rethink this strategy.

We want this to work for everyone and it it isn't working for anyone we missed the mark. Which is not the intent

Having the same point repeated in on big thread is better then having the exact same thread multiple times on the first page of this forum.

The posts by no clampets really belongs buried in one long thread.

Having a couple of "sticky's" might be a good compromise.

Have one locked thread to list any confirmed changes. Most of us expect additional restaurants and some posters are hoping for a choice of appetizer or dessert. Some posters are anticipating a reduction in the number of included snacks. You already have this for the 2007 DDP. Start a new one for 2008.

Have one general thread where posters like LovinHavinNoClampets can complain how the commoners ruined dining while others complain about how the "foodies" are just snobs who don't want to share their restaurants. All the posts how Disney is either ripping off guests or how guests were ripping off Disney can be in the same thread. Same with posts who question how much of a tip servers deserve.

Well, I'm not sure I'd put it that way, but I think the best way of dividing things would be between 'venting and opinions about whether the changes are good or bad' which should be restricted to one thread, and 'questions and factual answers' which should be one-question-per-thread, with summaries of frequently-asked questions saved-up for the upcoming 2008 FAQ. JHMO.

Then, where do people fall when they simplay want to discuss eating on the deluxe vs reg plan and how to utilize the plan?
I admit to being afraid to even post a question for fear it is in the wrong spot

I was thinking the same thing. I tired to read the thread last night, but gave up after a few pages.

Thank you! I love this option it would make getting questions answered so much easier! Thank you moderators for trying to keep the extra posts down to a minimum, but we need a FAQ thread for us who don't have time to read the rants and raves of the new plan.

Sorry, real life got in the way Doesn't my family know I have DIS obligations?

I promise, i have a huge block of free time this weekend and will work on putting some of this stuff together.
