Dining Plan Substitutions @ Flying Fish

I am going to Flying Fish for the first time in a few weeks and will be on the DDP, and had a quick question.

I know you can substitute your dessert for a fruit plate, side salad, or cup of soup, but has anyone ever asked to substitute their dessert for the Blue Crab Bisque? I'm really anxious to try it.

The substitution, if any allowed, at TS is completely up to the restaurants discretion. They don't have to sub anything, and the subs that have been reported here have not been anything on the menu. It never hurts to ask, and you may well receive some pixie dust and get exactly what you want. However, if you really want to try it, be prepared to pay OOP for it.

Especially somewhere like Flying Fish. They are NOT owned by Disney. Third-party restaurants are frequently less generous about substitutions on DDP.

My anecdotal experience: Last December, at Narcoossee's I was able to sub out the dessert for the Maine Lobster Bisque.

In general, uyou cannot sub dessert for an appetizer. WIll a server allow this once in a while? Yes. But it is not something to plan on so if you are granted this little perk, accept it as a gift. Most people will not have it happen.
