Ohana's: I hate to step on toes here since this is a much beloved restaurant, but we were not impressed. We were a party of six (my sister was with) and were seated at two tables they had pushed together. The round table was larger and a smaller rectangular table was pushed against it. The rectangular table top was literally at an angle and the whole table was propped up with a bunch of the books that bills are presented in. It would not have been possible to eat at that angle, much less keep your plate from sliding off! They seated us all at the round table instead and scolded us about how it would be difficult to fit all of the food at the table--as if this was somehow our fault!!!!

The shrimp wontons were delicious and the only food DS(7) ate. I also thought the wonton wrappers were good. The chicken wings went over pretty well but no one really likes the salad--I think the dressing was too sweet. I liked the shrimp and my sister ate a couple as well, but the kids did not like the sauce it was sauteed in and I did find them to be quite tough.

The potatoes were very good, but not at all unlike potatoes we have made at home and we only received a very small dish for all of us,with no refill. My sister and I thought the vegetables were very good. I especially liked the snap peas.

The skewered meat was okay. The steak and turkey were tasty, but a little tough. The pork was very tough, and not much eaten by anyone. I did not try the sausage since it is not something I care for, but it was not a very big hit with anyone else at at the table. DD(4) ended up with a peanut butter sandwich and was quite happy. DS's (10 and 7) didn't eat much more than potatoes and shrimp wontons, however they scooped up the bread pudding for dessert. We were brought a very small serving to share and the adults (who were full anyway) only tried a couple of bites. The kids were very happy with it though!

The service was very slow and the server was not very attentive. She was doting on a table nearby so we wondered if our lack of service was in fact due to us being on the dining plan. Of course that is just speculation, but the obvious difference did make us wonder.

I am glad that we tried O'hana's since we have not eaten there before, but I would not go out of my way to eat there in the future. I think we would have been upset if we had actually paid for this meal. The kids ate something from the resort food court later in the evening since they did not fill up at dinner. That did not upset me though because I had an idea going in that this might not be food they would be too crazy about. The rule in our house is that you should at least give different food a try. We tried this and it was okay, but as I said, we probably won't be back.

Crystal Palace--Breakfast: We had a delightful breakfast here. There was a wonderful assortment of food which kept us very full until late afternoon. The fresh fruit selection was delicious as were the bakery items. The Pooh and Tigger waffles also were a big hit.

We saw Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eyore. The characters were defintely pushed through in a hurry, but that did not bother us since we understood that they had to get to each table. We relaxed and enjoyed our breakfast a bit more once we had all of our photos and autographs.

Le Cellier: The food here was excellent and the service wonderful. DS(10) and I had shrimp cocktail and surf and turf. The filet was tender and cooked perfectly. The lobster was sweet and tender. DH had cheese soup and it was wonderful, but very rich and heavy. He also had the prime rib and was very pleased with it. The two little ones ordered the kids steaks, which were actually quite large. For dessert I had the Whiskey chocolate cake which was fabulous but huge! I brought most back to the hotel. DH passed on dessert again! The kids split 2 desserts since they were pretty full--the chocolate moose and the s'mores. They were as happy with the presentation of these items as they were with the taste.

Our server was exceptional. She was actually still training which may have accounted for her very kind attitude!! She was not at all snotty about the dining plan and was very good with the kids. This place was great and we will certainly be returning on our next visit.

Hollywood and Vine: We ate a late lunch/early dinner here and found it to be a great break from the very hot sun. Our server was attentive and kept our water glasses refilled, which we greatly appreciated. He also gave us a voucher for Fantasmic although we had not requested the FDP. Unfortuntately however, we did not have plans to stay for the show on that evening.

The food here was nothing spectacular, but good nonetheless. Plenty of fresh fruit and the children's buffet selections were very nice. The grilled sirloin was better than expected for a buffet. The salmon on the buffet was decent and DH liked the chicken. Desserts here were especially good. I liked the key lime tart and snickers cheesecake.

Planet Hollywood:: This was the choice of DS(10). We actually walked in at 5:30 without ADRs and were sat immediately with no wait. The food took quite a while to get, but we were enjoying the items on display so we did not mind. For appetizers we ordered chicken wings which DH and our sons thought were great. We also got chicken fingers and mini quesadillas. Both were excellent. For an entree I ordered the steak and shrimp (which carried a $7 surcharge with the dining plan). I also added the bleu chees topping to the NY strip. This came with a baked potatoe and tons of fresh, sauteed beans. It was all delicious. DH ordered a ribeye which he said was alos very good. This came with fires and the beans as well. DS(10) got the shrimp alfredo. He could not eat it all but was very happy with it. DS (7) had a ham sandwich and the princess (4)--had spaghetti and meatballs. for dessert we shared three items and could not even get close to finishing them. We had strawberry cheesecake, chocolate cake with ice cream and a brownie sundae. They were all very good, but the brownie sundae was too die for. It was so huge!!! All the tables around us were laughing when it was delivered to our table. The brownie was awesome and was covered with vanilla and chocolate Ghiradelli's ice cream and loads of whipped cream. Yum!!!! Although I was not expecting a fabulous meal here we were all very happy with the food and pleased that DS had insisted! (Coffee here was also very good and nothing like the delicious Disney Nescafe!)

We tipped extra for service that was good and lots extra for extraordinary service. Our snack credits were primarily used for water and popcorn at the parks as well as a few ice cream bars and popsicles. We purchased a few rice krispie Mickey bars to bring home with our leftover credits.

We were very please with the Dining Plan. We were originally going to pay for it, but switched to free dining when it became available. If the plan is still in effect during our next visit we will almost certainly purchase it.
