Dining plan resort question

Hi ho Disney thrill seekers!
I have developed a small snafu for our July Poly adventure (this is really a dining question). Four of us are staying 10 days (me, dw, dd, and dd'bff)and we will be on the dining plan. The bff's parents were going to go but the dad got a new job and the mom does payroll that week-so they had to bale. Now the mom has changed her mind and is going with us but can only stay 5 days (long weekend). My question is: can she still get on the dining plan for that length of time?

If everyone is in one room, she will have to get the same tickets as everyone else and have the DDP for the whole time. With that said, she can be added to the room at check in, but she would then have to purchase her tickets separately and pay OOP for her meals. Another thing to remember is since she would make the 3rd adult in the room, there will be an additional charge of $25/night for each night she is there.

If she is registered in the room she has to get the dining plan for the full stay. You can't get a partial dining plan for only half the stay.

You can use the credits after she leaves though.

Unless she needs Magical Express at the very beginning of the trip, best to add her after checkin, pay the third adult price for her, and pay OOP for her meals.

How were you doing this before? I cant think of rooms in the Polynesian that hold six people (except the suites), unless one of them is under age 3.

Originally, it was going to be two rooms (3/3), then it was one room of four, now it is one room of 5. Doing the math, it is two 16 yo girls, two ladies slightly above 16, and me (I left 16, 40 years ago). I will be spending a lot of time in the Tambu Lounge...
