How can you identify dining plan items from non-dining plan items in resort food courts where there's multiple stations? Namely, POR. We will be doing a few QS meals there, just wondering if anything is left off the DP in these situations or if it's all pretty much fair game. Also, how does dessert work with the QS meal in a food court like this? Are these choices limited? Thanks! :thumbsup2

You're entitled to any entree and any dessert. I can't think of any CS exclusions. With snacks, they might be marked or you might have to ask. Snacks have to be a single serving. Kids get whatever is on the kids meal.

The food courts are pretty easy to figure out once you have gone through them a few times.
As said above, look for that symbol, it helps greatly.

Other only thing I wasn't able to get as a dessert or a snack was a regular old candy bar by the cashier.
I thought those would be on the plan, but no, the cashier looked at me like I was nuts trying to pay for that as my dessert. :rotfl2:
Wouldn't let me have that 89cent candy bar, but I could get the $3.89 ice cream sundae....crazy!!

Just got back from a week at POR! The dining plan items are marked by a purple icon that you will see throught the resort. They have a variety of food stations that you pick up your entree. Non-alcoholic beverages are selected from a nearby cooler. For dessert, you can pick almost anything from the bakery including cheesecake, carrot cake, chocolate cake, cobbler of the day, ice cream etc. I am hungry just thinking about it :)

Several times at POR and at other counter services we did not want a dessert. We were able to get another bottle of water instead which was really helpful at the parks in the 95 degree heat!

Also, POR has a make your own yogurt parfait station. A large parfait layered with plain yogurt, granola or any other type of cereal, topped with brown sugar counted as a snack credit. It was a really filling breakfast and really good.

When in doubt, ask! If you see something you want and you aren't sure, just ask the CM nearby and they should be able to help you.

As for the symbol in the PP, that is the symbol for what counts as a snack. Your entree will not have any symbol next to it.

Also, if you want to come back for your dessert (like one that will melt!) tell your cashier and they will tell you what to do. They give you a certain time limit to return in. (can't remember if it was 30 min, and hour, or?) We did this at POP and got our ice cream after we finished eating.:goodvibes

POR is great with the CS meals plan - Choose your entree, hope over to the "bakery" for a dessert (cupcake a day was my sister's motto) and grab a bottled drink to take to the parks with you. The make your own pasta bar is amazing - choose the meat, sauce and noodles - one serving goes a long, long way. Pot Roast and veggies were also very good. The staff was also very great about telling you if you had missed something (the second drinks for breakfast) that you were entitled to. Enoy the resort and all that it has to offer:cloud9:

I love the yogurt parfait idea! That would definetly be a breakfast for me.
Also, if you don't want your dessert at night -- which often times is me, I just can't shovel all that food in at once. So, you could get a muffin from the bakery area and save it for breakfast on your way before an EMH!

A couple tips for POR specifically:

1) Nothing is excluded - but each section has a kids menu, so if using kids credits stick to those options.
2) Some stations have the same stuff - for example at breakfast you can get the bounty platter at 2 - 3 different spots - check it out so you're not waiting in a line if not needed.
3) If you're getting a cup for a drink from the drink station - ask for a large size if you are thirsty. They'll usually give you a smaller one unless asked.
4) Make sure to know or ask what you get - We had one lovely woman who would make sure you had everything (oh - you didn't get a drink for this meal) but others allowed us to just go without dessert or drink.
5) If you want ice cream dessert - they will mark your receipt - you need to keep this to return to get the ice cream.

We had a good experience at POR with the foodcourt.

CS meal breakfast = entree & drink (no dessert)
CS lunch or dinner = entree, drink, & dessert

Snack credits are marked with a purple square however there is no indicator for a cs meal credit.

The desserts were anything from the pastry counter or ice cream. If you would like to check out my review below I have a few pictures in there of POR foodcourt. My suggestion is to get the Make your own pasta"! :lovestruc
