Does anyone know why DVC Members are not allowed to buy the advanced dining plan and packages? Before we joined DVC my wife and I went down to Disney and bought the premium dining package that included 3 table services as well as lots of other benifits like boats, golf, etc. I was just wondering if anyone knows why we can't get that package if your willing to pay for it. Thanks:confused3

Isn't part of that package a room reservation at rack rate? If so, that's why.

You can buy the MYW dining plan but not the premium plan. The premium plan can only be purchased as part of a room package through CRO, it is not priced separately. The MYW has a fixed add-on price, so DVC was able to get availability for members, although it was well over a year after that plan started.

It's a good question and I don't know the reason why we can't add it.

I don't think it has anything to do with being part of a package. That is true of the DDP as well if you're not staying on points at a DVC resort. I suspect the premium plan has a set addon cost too. Perhaps the price is high enough that it would not appear attractive. Or perhaps too few people would be interested to make it worthwhile for DVC to negotiate with WDW. Or....

We did what is now the premium plan for years and loved it...golf, boats, good meals and shows. I don't think we have the energy to take advantage of it anymore but do wish there was a 2 TS option.
