I'm getting ready for my first trip to WDW in Feb. I've made my ADRs online but I haven't purchased the meal plan yet. I plan to do this within the next week or so. I'm using my sister's DVC points for the trip (she made the resort reservations) and I don't know how long I have to add the meal plan and if I can do this myself or if I need her to do it for me. Any help would be appreciated.:hourglass

She will have to call DVC to add it for you, and I believe you have up until 3 days before arrival. I'd do it no less than 10 to avoid any kinks.

DVC will not speak anyone other than the owner of the points about anything on the reservation.

Here is the answer to your question:

I copied this off the DVC website.

and your sister will have to call and add it for you but you can pay for it with your credit card.

:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info, everyone. My sister has never done the meal plan and doesn't think it's worth it. The last time I asked her about it she said she had no idea if she needed to call or if I could do it. A friend of mine also mentioned that there is a discount for DVC members. Would that apply here, since I'm not a member, but she would be purchasing the plan for me?

Sadly, there is not a discount on the Dining Plan for DVC members, they pay the same price per night as everyone else.

There are annual pass discounts, DVC can purchase tables in wonderland cards, and a few other discounts but unfortunately, you have to be the DVC owner to receive the discount.

There is one discount. DVC members don't have to pay the peak pricing for the DDP at those times of the year. This would include any DVC reservation, not just for a member.

Are you sure? ;) We went Christmas week 2011 & I think we paid more per person per day because of holiday pricing. Of course we added it through DVC member services and paid for it through them. I just asked my husband and he said the same thing. Also, during our entire trip our joke was these high holiday dining prices. LoL! I may be wrong or we got duped. Haha!

Unless they changed it last year ( and from other posts I didn't think so).

No problem, like I said, it has been almost a year since we paid for that dining plan, we could be a little memory fuzzy on that one.
