Dining Plan question

We've been told by friends that my picky child who I am paying adult rates for on the Dining Plan can share a meal with another member in our party at some locations not offering buffet style meals since we are not holding back on being adventurous in our dining plans. Do you need to pay another plate charge? I would like to save his table service allottment for another use and have him pick off my plate which is always too much for me anyway. Let me know if that is true. He would rather just use counter service in most cases and eat before we have a sit down dinner anyway but he is too young to be on his own in the park so is forced to sit during each dinner with us what a tragedy. Thanks for any help.

You already are aware that you can't do this at any buffet, family-style, or dinner show. MOST restaurants will allow you to share a meal, but not all of them do. I am not aware of any restaurants at WDW that charge a plate sharing fee.

ETA: if he is really picky, you can sometimes alter an entree so that he would eat it. For example you could ask that any sauce be omitted or served on the side. Sometimes you can switch a starch to another one that the restaurant serves. For example subbing fries or mashed potatoes for rice. Just a thought..

My daughter and I share table service meals every trip without a problem. I've never had a server question us and you should definately not be charged for it.

The only two places I can think of that don't allow it on the DDP are Tutto Italia and Beaches and Cream. You can share there if you are paying OOP, but not if you on the DDP.
