Dining Plan Question

We are heading to WDW in a couple of weeks and have booked a hotel only reservation at POR. When I made the reservation I could only add the dining plan if I bought park tickets, but I already have park tickets. Somewhere I remember reading that DVC members could still get the dining plan when they stayed on any WDW property. Am I right or is it just wishful thinking? If I am, how would I go about adding it on?

You can get the plan if you are staying on points- I don't know if it works for stays outside of the DVC hotels but if you are not on points at POR it doesn't matter at all.

Do you have annual passes? There is a dining plan addition for annual passholders.

No just some old parkhopper tickets with no exp date. Trying to do this trip on a budget. And we will only be there for three full days, so annual passes arent an option.

You don't have to use the tickets on this trip. You could buy the min ticket and the use AND upgrade it later if you wanted. You'd be investing for future tickets but wouldn't have any additional costs in the long run.

Did that last year (invested part) I have had these 10 PH passes since 2005. Well, still a couple of days left plus 3 water park and more entrances.

As I recall, you can now get the dining plan without tickets at a non-DVC WDW resort if you book through MS and use points for your stay.

So as rlovew posted, if you booked through CRO, you must use their rules (buy a room & ticket package with a minimum stay) to add the dining plan.
