When you go to disney using the dining plan, do you pay for some meals out of pocket?

We will eat at RFC and have a $50 GC there- so that's something OOP. This will be our first time on the DP and we are DVC members, so we'll have to see if it is worth it or not!

We didn't - the only thing we paid OOP for were some alcoholic beverages.

In fact, we were there for 8 nights, and left with some CS and snack credits still on the card.

It ends up being too much food for my family! No need to purchase more. We ended up splitting several of the counter service meals because of the quanity.

I had to pay for a few meals OOP because we went to CRT dinner (2 credits) and Hoop de Doo (2 credits) and wanted lunch at Le Chefs de France. We really enjoy character breakfasts too, and went to Chef Mickey's so that ate up another TS credit. Haha! We try to do one dinner show and one signature dining experience each time we go.

We'll do Trails End OOP and use the credits and Flying Fish.

We don't have enough credits because we have some signature restaurants included in our plan as well as CRT and an extra character breakfast. I know that we don't need all of the meals, but we enjoy them. I could manage with the DDP if we did not plan any extras.

we eat 3 meals a day DDP or not so since DDP doesn't cover 3 meals of course we pay OOP.

We like to do a sit down breakfast most days and don't want to use our TS credits for this small amount. We also like to dine at Trail's End and the price is also too low to justify using the TS credits. We pay OOP for these places, but we also have the DDE card, so do get the discount too. We are now planning on doing more signature restraurants in the future to help space the eating frenzy.

We do CRT so we end up paying OOP for at least 1 meal.

Even after going to the Cal. Grill and the YSteakhouse ( which uses 2 each) we were still scrambling on our last day to use up our tickets. I love the dining plan. Keep your fingers crossed for free dining again this year!!

We used the plan last year. It covered most of our meals.

We like to have a hot breakfast each morning when we're on vacation. We can both(teen son and I) grab breakfast for about $10.00. Instead of using 2 CS credits, I just pay OOP.

I also pay OOP for snacks that aren't covered by the plan. Then there are add ons that aren't covered. (crab legs at Cape May Cafe )

With the new snack options, I won't use a snack credit for bottled water or soda. I'll pay OOP for those things.

We're using the dining plan again during our next trip. In addition to the plan, I'll have a snack and breakfast budget.

We ended up paying oop for our last meal at MK - counter service. We had one CS left and bought hot dogs for the kids and a few extra drinks....we were so full from the food all week it was fine!

The plan was more that enough food for us, so much that by the end of the trip we split meals because people weren't that hungry. The only things I paid OOP was for the drinks when we shared.

We never ate at locations that required 2 table crdits per person.

We always have CS credits left. Dh perfers TS meals so we usually pay for one out of pocket.

We also usually have CS and snack credits left-but we do pay OOP for some TS-like we always do Rainforest at AK (not on DDP) and we usually pay for Hoop Dee Doo or the Lua at Poly.

I will pay OOP (for appetizer or salad) in lieu of using a DP credit if i'm not particularly hungry.

DS tends to not eat the fancy desserts (who's kid is he???) and I'll help myself to his. He likes to grab a turkey leg later instead , calls it 2nd dinner.

We used to get bottled water & haul it home w/our leftover snack credits...

i've discovered the MM rice krispie bars (where have they been all my life ); they travel well...if you can avoid eating them before you get home.
