Need some expert advice on the Dining Plan. I've always had it for free before, but will have to pay for it this time.
Travelling with two children 10 & 11 years old. Can I save by just doing counter service and possibly skipping lunch? Any advice? Thanks!

For kid the ages of yours, you're really going to have to do the math. It certainly is possible to save money from what you would pay on the DDP.

We love the DDP. We didn't have it last trip, and I really felt as though we were just hemorrhaging money. It got to where every time we went into a restaurant-- and I love having one ADR per day-- I would look at the prices to determine what I was having. Five people times 3 meals a day times 7 days is a lot of meals!

This trip, we're back on the DDP.

Take a look at the menus at www.allears.net and see how the numbers work out for you. Since both of your kids are 10 and over, they count as adults on the DDP, so it's not going to be cheap. But food at WDW is expensive; you really have to crunch the numbers and ballpark what each person in your family would be likely to order.
