I have been holding out because I don't understand the plans, but after some reading I wonder if it will be better for us. We have 4 people 6,34,36,62. We are staying at AOA so we will need all meals...What's better just go with the flow and eat or do the plan?

Also our room is booked by a cast member should we ask him to book the dining plan?

The dining plan will only provide you 2 meals unless you get the deluxe dining plan. The deluxe dining plan is $99 per day per person unless your cast member friend can get a discount on it.

In most cases you can always come out cheaper paying out of pocket.

IMO the dining plans aren't really designed to save you money but just to be a prepaid convenience.

I would never pay full price for any of the dining plans. If you can't get a free dining promo I would check the menus on Allears.net and see what you think everybody would eat and add it all up and see if it comes out better by having the dining plan.

If you drink water with your meals, don't snack much during the day and don't have dessert with every meal, you can come out cheaper paying out of pocket.

I have done it both ways, with and without the dining plan. But I had FREE dining and upgraded it only paying the difference in the free plan I got and the upgraded plan I wanted.
