Dining Plan Opinions

We are just 73 days away from our trip, but it seems so close. I want to get a quick opinion of what we have chosen. It will just be my husband and I since this is a 10 year anniversary trip. We are more than likely going next February/March with our girls, so we wanted to do more "adult" meals since we are not using a dining plan and we plan to do all those character meals and "kid friendly" meals with them when we have a dining plan next year. We like to share big meals so we did not think it was cost effective to get a dining plan this go around. Also, please feel free to throw out meal suggestions! I am the weirdo that plans what I am going to get in advance, haha!

Arrival day: We get in at 10 am. We plan on going straight to DHS after dropping our bags at POFQ. Brown Derby Dinner (we plan on either getting cobb salads and soup from the appetizer menu or one app and one large meal to share).
Day 2: this is our Magic Kingdom day and we are doing a monorail crawl that afternoon/evening. We plan on stopping at TamuTamu lounge for apps/drinks, Trader Sams, and Mizners for apps/drinks (I think Mizner's serves apps from Citricos?)
Day 3: we have reservations at Yachtsman after Epcot. This is our big anniversary splurge. (I think we might split the Porterhouse for Two).
Day 4: Universal Studios day
Day 5: lunch at Satuli Canteen and then we will move to Disney Springs and have dinner at Homecomin
Day 6: Our flight is at 5, so we will spend the morning at MK, eat lunch, then head back to the resort to go to the airport.

Your plans sound great! For your monorail crawl, Mizner's does serve some food items from Citricos, but Citricos also has its own bar area that feels a bit more "special" IMHO. California Grill lounge is a good monorail crawl stop, too. The Wave also has some good appetizers in the lounge. I plan on doing a similar crawl next week.

Sounds good! I’d recommend getting in line for Trader Sam’s before they open. If the open at 4 maybe get in line around 3:30 if you want to be in the first group. It’s very small and doesn’t hold a lot of people.

Thank you for the tip! We knew we wanted to get there around 4, but were unsure of how early. The monorail crawl is the part that makes me the most nervous. I have never been to any of these resorts/bars on any previous trip.

Did not know that, thank you!!

Yay!! Do you get to pick which three "steakhouse sides" you get or is it always onions/spinach/mushrooms?

I'm not sure if you can choose anything outside of those, but we got three servings of spinach instead of one of each. Neither of us like onions or mushrooms very much.
