Dining Plan on Check in day

We are doing a split stay, first two nights at VWL, followed by 9 nights at POR. We have the dining plan for the POR stay, but not for the VWL nights. My question is can we activate the dining plan the day we are checking into POR, before we leave VWL? I would like to have a late breakfast at Whispering Canyon before we head off to POR, but not sure if our dining plan will be able to be activated before we physically arrive at POR. We are from Australia so I'm not sure if we will be eligible for online check in.
