Just to clearify - If you choose to do the dining plan with DVC you have to participate on linked DVC reservations but not cash CRO reservations? Last week we had the first night booked through CRO while staying at OKW (Took advantage of the annual pass discount) and the reamining nights booked through DVC. We only had to pay for the nights booked with them (DVC). I never told them I wanted the dining on the CRO. Was this a mistake or is this how they do it? Thanks

CRO and DVC reservations can not be truly linked, thus the DDP is completely seperate for the reservations.

For instance, if night 1 is a CRO night, and nights 2 to 8 are DVC nights, you will not have the DDP on your arrival day unless you make arrangements for it through CRO. Your DDP would start the next day, when you check-in for your DVC reservation.

Plus you'd have to buy a package from Disney Reservation Center to get the dining plan with a non-DVC stay. That includes tickets and room at rack rate (unless you have an AP).
