I received a pin code ad in the mail for a meal plan from Disneyland. I called about it and was told that it was similar to WDW. They said that they are trying it with people who have scheduled packages during this certain time frame (good Oct. 12-Dec.20). They have the table service plan and the quick service meal plan. I am waiting for info from the lead about what restaurants require 2 table service entitlements. It is great that they will finally be getting a plan like WDW!!! :yay: :cool1:

I hope they do! I adore the DP at WDW,but I hope the DLR plan includes all the DTD restaurants. There aren't nearly as many choices at DLR as at WDW.

Ohhhhhhhhh that would be soooooooooooooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope they make this happen!!

Wow - that is interesting. Let us know how it goes or what you find out........... I would LOVE a dining plan like WDW - even though there are not the same choices in dining. Still has to be better than the current dining plan!

I got the pin code for the table service plan. It states that it includes "one table service meal featuring an entree, a dessert, and a non-alcoholic beverage; one quick service meal featuring an entree, a dessert, and a non-alcoholic drink; and one snack where you can choose from among the following: popcorn, churro, fruit, ice cream novelty, cotton candy, and non-alcoholic." The small print says that some restaurants may require more than one table meal entitlement. The lead said that from what she could find out, that means the signature restaurants which would include Napa Rose and Steakhouse 55. The last line of readable print reads, "Purchase in advance for only $39.99 per adult, per night or $11.99 per child, per night to save up to 30% on your vacation meals." No paying in excess of the vouchers!!!!!! Gratuity is not included, but taxes are included. The one downside is that it is still "vouchers," but they are working toward the card concept. Yeah!!! Meals paid for already!!!!

That sounds ALOT like the WDW DDP.

There were some restaurants (high end similar to Napa & Steakhouse 55) in WDW that were signature restaurants.... that I think were "double credits", so that's understandable that they would have this designation at DLR.

The one thing that (i think) is different, is that the WDW DP i believe INCLUDED gratuity (is that still the case?)....which would be a 15-17% item.

Anyone know what the daily fee is now for the WDW DP? (is it also 40 bucks for adults & 12 bucks for kids?)

I wonder if it's available if one books a room at AP 7 rates?

Thanks for sharing this. :thumbsup2

Thank you for sharing! I want one!!!

So are they just sending it random in the mail?

Sounds like a good plan! Would someone please explain these pins to me? I have an AP ~ are they sent in the mail? Is it like a post card? Is it an email?

DisneyMomma81, it is my understanding that the pin code mailing is only being sent out to those with WDTC packages at this time. Not sure if it is random within those with packages or if all packages got a pin. Not sure when or if it will be available to all.

OH Please let it be true!!!!!!!!!! Wish I had the PIN code. It would make change my reservations from Hojo's to a disney hotel/for Thanksgiving week.

Last I heard WDW DP no longer includes gratuity.

Oh my goodness!! I've been hoping for DLR to do something like WDW!!

This is great news!!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I am curious about this, too. DH and I are planning on staying at DLH for our anniversary, this would be so great if you can include the plan with and AP 7 rate stay! :goodvibes

The phone number on the mailing is 866-279-7172. It is through the Walt Disney Travel Company. They might be able to tell you more. My understanding is that right now it is just packages. That probably would not include AP hotel rate stays, but I don't know for sure. Good luck!!!

They changed it from what it used to be. It no longer includes Tip And you lose the appetizer from the table service. When we went to WDW in April of 2007, we paid $37.99, tax and tip was inlcuded, i table with app, entree, dessert and drink, one snack and one counter with entre, dessert and drink. THAT was an awesome value. We split several table service meals and saved tons of money. It will still be great of DL offers this but WDW has watered it down from the original. Now if we can only get DL to do the free dining promo like WDW does!

I had forgotten about the appetizer with table service.....that was a crazy amount of food. Thanks for that info & on the "tip" now not being included.

We did the WDW dining plan twice (in 05 & 06 i think)....the second time my wife's sister (& her daughter) joined us & hadn't bought the DDP. They ended up eating with us at table service meals (wife & her sis would often split) & we STILL had food left over.

The DDP (& especially Free dining) & Disneyland (with DTD restaurants included) would ROCK. :hippie:

I must be the only one who thinks this is a BAD idea. I don't want to have to make ADRs 6 months in advance like you now have to do at WDW. DL has a heckuva lot less table service options compared to WDW, which means if this plan turns out to be 'successful', the TS restaurants will all become insanely crowded.

Very true....sadly :guilty:

I used the dining plan for my honeymoon trip to WDW in 05 and felt soooo spoiled. I do worry that DLR does not have enough TS places to withstand the demand.

I think a hybrid of the two plans would be great. Keep the plan in blocks of days like it currently is at DLR, but instead of getting money valued vouchers, get mostly CS meals with a few TS meals included. This way, people would not expect to eat TS everyday since for example a 5 day meal plan would included only 3 TS meals with the rest being CS and snacks. JMHO
