Dining Plan in winter?

Hi We are planning a trip to DW from Australia in January when the parks close early and will be staying at a Value resort.

I assume the park restaurants close when the parks do? If so I'm not sure it is worth buying the plan since the only chance for table service is at the parks and I'm sure the kids (5, 8 and 11) would rather ride then eat?

Any thoughts?

The Dining plan includes many, many table service restaurants outside the parks. There are sit down restaurants at all Deluxe resorts, and most Moderate resorts. Downtown Disney offers a few TS places. And Epcot's World Showcase has awesome Table Service restaurants. Epcot stays open until 9:00 every night, year round. When we go during shorter-hours times, we usually head over to Epcot most nights for dinner.

You will still find LOTS of restaurants to have dinner at even if park hours are shorter.
