Dining plan-Ft Wilderness Campgrounds?

Hello all!

I've been a lurker on this site for awhile, and finally decided to register and post!

We have a trip to Ft Wilderness campgrounds coming up in October. My husband is active duty military, so we'll get his ticket rates this year. However, in order for us to get the dining plan, we had to buy an extra 1 day MYW ticket. When I talked to the Disney CM while making reservations, she told me that we could not use the code to get the dining plan with our room rate, because the campground does not fall under any of the codes. Do any of you know if this is correct, or did I just get a CM that might not know how to work around this? We also did not get the 40% off military rate because of this rule.

Are you staying in a camper or are you booked at Fort Wilderness in the Disney cabins? This would make all of the difference in the world. If you are booked in the cabins, you CAN get the dining plan.

We're staying in our camper on the campgrounds...is that why we don't qualify for the great discount codes??

I've been looking for months and haven't found any discounts that help those of us staying at the campground. The cabins are another story, however. So, if you're in a campsite you probably won't have much luck. I wrote a letter to customer relations about this very thing, and they called me but had no real answer for me but "sorry." I've been told by a CM it's because the campground is typically at or near capacity so there's no real reason to offer discounted packages to campers. I don't know anything about the military discounts, so hopefully you can get some help with that. It would be shameful for Disney to not offer a great discount for being in the military!! Good luck.
