Dining plan expiration

When does my dining plan credits expire? For example we check out on January 2 but would like to go to Downtown Disney and have lunch before we leave. Will I still be able to use my credits after we have officially checked out of the hotel?

You have until Midnight on the day you check out to use your Refillable cup and any remaining dining credits/snack credits.

Thank you so very much. That is what I thought I just wanted verification. Didn't want to save a credit and then not be able to use it.
