We used the Dining Plan in February '06 while stayin at OKW. We had CS Credits left on check-out day and had trouble using them. It is my understanding that they should be good until midnight of check-out day. Is this accurate?

We are doing a split stay June 27-June 30 at SSR and then June 30-July 4 at BWV. We are planning to take advantage of the Dining plan. Since we will be arriving very late on June 27, we will be unable to use our Dining Credits on that day. Will I have separate Dining Credits for each reservation or will they be linked? If they are separate, will I be able use credits for my SSR stay for dinner on the check-out night? I am worried because of the problems we had in February. Does anyone know if they have worked out the kinks? Have you had trouble using dining credits on check-out day?

They cannot be linked, the first dining plan will expire on June 30.

I had trouble with credits on checkout day last April but it was OK in June. If there's a problem, they can call from the restaurant and check on it.

The dining plan does expire midnight of your check out day. We went through the same thing last November. We checked out and hit the parks for a few hours using up the last portion of our credits. In your case you will have 1 day where you could use both dining plans. One will start at check in and the other will end at midnight. If there are left overs for that night, book a nice dinner that may require 2 CS per person. Make sure you have enough points though.

Since you give up the first day due to arriving late and it's a lot of food, one options is to get it for the second portion and not the first. You could then plan the options that don't fit well into the DDP during the first segment and push the ones that work well for the DDP for the second. You'd only have 2 days you wouldn't have access to the DDP if you did it this way. Note that the cheaper options, esp for lunch, tend to not work as well for value for the DDP.

I had left over snack options from our trip at Christmas. I went into the snack area at SSR and purchased large bags of snacks, they were only 1 credit each. We had plenty of snacks for the drive home, in fact, I still have 1/2 bag of peanut brittle in my cupboard!

I also didn't use my full first day meal plan. I planned it all out though so we still used up all our credits, either with breakfasts or lunches then.

I also have a split stay coming up in November, if my wait list doesn't come through. I didn't realize the meal plan would start and stop. Now I need to understand that more fully, especially if the wait list doesn't happen.

Have you had trouble using dining credits on check-out day?
I was nervous about this, but we just used our last 4 TS credits for dinner and 5 or 6 snack credits on our check-out date this past Friday with no problems at all.

Our only difficulty with the plan was that Boardwalk Bakery charged DH two CS credits instead of one, but we caught it in time and the Lobby Concierge was able to correct it for us.

If you encounter a problem with using credits after checkout (it does occur, unfortunately), the fix is to call the front desk of the resort you checked out of. They will have a complete record of your checkin and checkout, as well as the complete record of credit usage, and they will be able to resolve any issues.

Another tip you often see on the DDP board is to NOT allow charges to your room. Sometimes if there is a glitch with the system, the restaurants simply bill the meal to the room...which is a bear to straighten out.

And if you do get an incorrect charge, concierge is the place to go to get it fixed. Calling the number of the card does nothing but waste time. We've had a few issues and concierge has always been great about fixing them quickly and correctly.

You could try as suggested above, using the DDP for one portion and not the other....that's what we're doing in July. Staying at the BCV July 2-8, then going to the VWL July 8-10.....we decided to get the DDP for the first portion of our stay this trip.
