Dining Plan - Disney Springs before checking in

I will coming from Universal and plan to stop at Disney Springs before reaching my resort. If I check in online and set up everything (cc and pin) can I use my dining plan at Disney Springs before I actually get to the resort or do I need to do something at the resort first before my dining plan is active?

Probably. It should work, but it does involve Disney IT and etc., so you may have trouble anyway.

The problem with that is...you won't know if there's trouble until you're trying to pay your dining bill using credits. Guest relations is little help at that point.

If there's a problem, just pay using a credit card, then get it credited back to your card and taken off your dining credits once you get to your resort. Save your receipt, of course.
