Dining Plan date question

We have done the free dining a couple of times and are hoping for another. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge August 22nd - 29th, and I have heard it might start on the 23rd. If that occurs will we just have to pay out of pocket for food on the 22nd and then it will kick in on the 23rd? Does anyone know how this works? We already booked the trip with the dining, but hopefully I can adjust the res if the free dining is back.

Your trip dates must be within the promo dates. Only way to get the free dining is to make your package start on 8/23 (if, in fact, that is the date the promotion will start), and just do a room night on a separate reservation for 8/22. Checking in for your package on 8/22 would not qualify if the promo dates start on 8/23.

Your dining and passes would not start until 8/23 though, so it depends when you are arriving on 8/22. Without a park pass you could go to DTD, etc.

Some people have been getting pin codes for free dining starting 8/16. No one really knows yet what dates the general public free dining offer will cover.
