We are thinking of doing the dining plan for only one part of our split stay. The thing is, we want to use the credit on the day we check out and then into the next resort. I know that the "credits" expire on midnight the night you check out. But has anyone had issues using the last credit after checking out and checking into the new hotel?

Thanks guys!

Last report that I am aware of is that with the new software, the credits don't transfer well. In addition if the resort that you are checking out of doesn't close out your account, is delayed or has a problem, you can't open the room door at the new resort.

I would get a print out of your dining credits just before checking out and take the info with you when you check in at the new resort.

I had heard that as well. Now you need to physically check out of your first resort in person before you can check in to your new resort remaining credits are getting lost at check out instead if being available until midnight. I'm not sure if this is an intent or a glitch

Just this past September I had a split stay and did the DxDP on the second portion. Which would have been my first if I didn't extend my trip.

Did not actual visit the front desk to check out of the first resort. Checked into the second resort late morning with the dining plan and received and began using the plan. Picked up my mug and a snack on the way to the villa.

At the end of this stay I still had three credits that I was using for lunch and dinner the day of check out. Again I did not visit the front desk before checking into the next resort. Used a credit for lunch before heading to the next resort to check in. Checked in and relaxed before dinner. Used the plan for dinner without any issues.

The one thing I noticed was that all my gratuities appeared on the hotel bill with the dinning. That was not an issue for me. I did not have any room or park entry issues either. Not sure when they made a software change so this trip might have been before.

We have yet to have any issues with credits during a split stay. Credits transferred just fine!

Recently came back from a split stay using Deluxe DDP for both stays. We had trouble with the credits. The last day of the first DDP and first day of next DDP we could not get the second DDP credits to start working. We complained and were told the best they could do is refund the cost of dining at the Resort and retroactively use the credits. So, we had to put money up front for that day.

However, looking back on it I think we figured out what went wrong. We never purchased the refillable mugs. So, those "credits" were never used and technically the system still showed the previous credits needing to be used. We have really cut down on our soda intake and didn't feel the need to get two sets of cups.

The reason we think this is what happened, we were repeatedly asked if we used all the credits, and the snack credits and meal credits were completely used. However, the refillable mug is a credit.

We recently had a split stay with the DDP on the first stay and the regular dining plan on the second part of the trip.

When we moved to the VGF, we still had snack credits left from our stay at the BWV. We tried to get a counter service lunch at VGF with the credits from our "new" dining plan, but could not activate the new plan until ALL of the credits from the "old" plan were used up.

We were forced to use up about 10 snack credits on junk at Gasparilla Grill before we could get lunch. Not the ideal use of snack credits, but we really just wanted some lunch :)

Once all of the old snack credits were used, our new dining plan could be activated. The lady was very apologetic, but said that was the way the new computer system was set up.

This could cause problems if you were saving old credits for a dinner the first night of a split stay. Technically they expire at midnight, but if you had another dining plan for the second part of a split stay, you could have issues.
