When it comes to the dining plan why do they go by how many nights you are there and not by days? I mean people do gotta eat on their last day. And like us we will have to pay OOP for the last day since all our credits will be gone. Also I think it should be allowed to where you can add on additional days for a little extra charge. Like say the dining plan was the same but you could tack on another $40 per person for each extra days you want it. They also need to change it to where it comes with breakfast, lunch and dinner credits plus snack like the other package instead of buying a huge package with a lot of the stuff some people wont use.

I think going by nights works just fine...

You have supper on the arrival day and breakfast/lunch on the departure day. How many people are lucky enough to be able to arrive very early and depart late enough to require 1 TS, 1 CS, and 1 snack for each of those days?

it goes by nights because that's how you pay for a hotel room
for example you arrive on a monday and leave on friday. That's 4 nights at the hotel., but 5 days at the resort.

If it were tied to the days, you'd be paying for 5 per person instead of 4 per person. If you're a family of 4 (2A, 2C) it'll cost you $490 or $392
i like it the cheaper way;)

I would think that the majority of WDW vactioners are not lucky enough to have a full day on their arrival and another full day on their departure. Most people will arrive late-morning or mid afternoon and will depart before dinner on their last day. That gives most of them the same number of breakfast, lunches and dinners as they have nights. To create a dining plan that goes by the number of days would make some people feel as if they are being charged for something that they won't be using.

With 1 TS, 1 CS and 1 snack per person per night, many DISers are reporting that they have more than enough food for their stay. I can't see Disney doing a B/L/D + snack plan without raising the price. Personally, I like it the way it is.

They had a plan in past years that included breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Personally, we found it too expensive to be worthwhile. Besides, we rarely ate 3 real meals per day.

Most people do not arrive early enough in the morning and/or leave late enough at night to have an extra "full" day at the resort. We did on our last trip--arrived at 9 am, left at 6 pm. Even with that schedule, we had plenty of credits on our plan to get CS "to go" for a meal at the airport! We ate the best we ever had at WDW.

Personally, I like the plan the way it is. I'm comfortable with the price and I have plenty of food. On our recent trip, with 8 nights/9 full days, I spent $3 OOP for food.
