Can you clarify that when purchasing points thru DVC owner, the Disney dining plan can be added, but does that mean that tickets must be purchased as part of package? I am considering renting DV but if tickets are optional when dining plan is added. I am planning a 4 day stay at WDW resort post-cruise and wanted to purchase dining plan but found that I could get 4-day tickets from mousesavers.com and get 3 days free. We will be arriving one day prior to cruise and could use the free tickets. I would opt to stay at DV prior to cruise but I felt that DV owners would not want to split stay and rent for one day, then 4 days later (3-day gap in between). Can you advise with planning? Thanks

Yes, you can have the owner add a dining plan to a DVC Point reservation. For DVC point reservations you don't have to purchase park tickets. You would pay for the dining plan when you check in to the resort.

Buy 4, get 3 days free really isn't the deal that it sounds like. A 4 day base ticket is $233 for adults, a 7 day is $243. So you save $10 for the 3 free days. It's not a 40% discount like it sounds.
