Dining PLan Changes!!!!!

For regular dining plan users, will it be possible to use a child's quick service credit for an adult meal? Or will that only apply to those with an actual quick service plan?

Interesting, I have a trip planned in September. I can't wait to see the snack changes and the quick service change will come in handy with a picky 5 year old.

I too am really excited about the flexibility this will give us. I had planned on us having to "game" the system a bit with me going through then hubby so that the kids could split a meal here and there. Now, no sneaking around! :) I also love the ability to swap meal credits for snacks. Because we are going to Seaworld and Legoland, we were going to end up with some extra meals, but no leftover snack credits....well, those will be converted to pastries (3!) at Boulangerie in Epcot and Karamel Kuche instead of just some bags of gummy bears at the gift shop. I hope that this announcement turns out to be 100% true.

This is pretty awesome! My kids usually eat off of DH's and my plates since they prefer to eat the same thing that we do. I've always felt weird telling the cashier at a QS that doesn't have kids meal to use the kids' credits. Kinda felt like I was abusing the system even though I wasn't.

I just saw this and I hope it proves to be the case! We always have QS meals left over at the end of the trip and I would love to be able to officially convert them to snacks to take home!

How much you want to bet the cost of at least the child's plan goes up or becomes the same as adult pric

IF it is true, then yes, all QS credits essentially become the same and you can use them all for adult meals.

For those that already have their vacations booked for this year, this is going to be great news. But I guarantee you that if these changes really do come about, the prices of the plans are going to go UP, especially the price of the kid's plans. I'm even predicting that there will be no child QSDP...why should they?

I wonder if I can have a smoothie as my snack credit. If so can I have 3 smoothies as a meal? My family doesn't really eat breakfast right away but it would be nice to grab some calories to go and use only one credit.

That pricing was reported to me by a hotel gift-store CM, not a restaurant location, but I'd welcome independent confirmation from anyone on-site at the moment as those prices did seem crazy to me. I don't recall bottled drinks being that much when I was last there.

Just to confirm, bottled drink prices in WDW stores (well at POFQ's Jackson Square definitely, but I assume it's general) did indeed go up by 75c on Sunday. The 16.9 fl oz bottles of Dasani water went up from $2.50 to $3.25 for example. (It was the larger size which went up from $3.75 to $4.50).

But hey, that's OK, they're still free snacks on the revised DDP....... ;) The old phrase "robbing Peter to pay Paul" comes to mind.

I was referred to this post from another where I was asking about using an adult TS and a child TS credit together for a child at CRT. Anyway, these dining plan changes seems to make it easier for me to just order the DD7 an adult meal (using an ADULT TS credit) at one of our dinners, and then I will be left with the 2 child TS credits I will need for our final night.
