Hi,
New to DVC taking first trip as DVC member june 2013. Were staying Jambo one bedroom club level. My dh thinks we should also do the deluxe dining(?)
I think it will be way to much food but he like to eat at all 2 table services for dinner. So which plan sounds better for us reg or deluxe? It will be me, dh, 13 n 14 son. Thanks

Club level is not a dining plan, it's just supposed to be an occasional snack.

The deluxe plan may be a good deal for you if you dine at enough signature restaurants. Often signatures are not a good use of the normal DDP (paying 2 adult DDP days =52*2 for that one $60 meal.
But it is just a math problem, depending on what you normally eat and that cost vs the DDP.
It is also certainly possible to eat too much on a normal DDP, I love Teppan Edo at the end of a DDP trip partially because of reasonable portions when I feel somewhat full all the time.

We used the deluxe dining plan last year and it worked out great for us, We mostly ate at the 2 table service rest, We took home quite a few packaged snacks and purchased sandwiches for our flight home.My DH doesn't care for desserts but almost always want an appetizer so this worked out well for us.

Thanks for your help. I think we will still do deluxe. Our last trip at CA grill the bill was easy 300 plus. Thanks again

The two times we have stayed at AKL-CL, DW and I ate enough from the free offerings that we did not purchase anything else.

The price next year for the deluxe plan is $400 per day for a family of four. If your dinner is $300, that means that you will need to eat $100 worth of food each day for your other meals to break even. Too much food for us and some Signature Restaurants really aren't signature experiences any more.

Plus staying in Club Level, you get snacks and drinks throughout the day plus you will have your DDP refillable mug.

The only time we did the dining plan, we were on the regular one (it was offered free and we got a room discount) - we were staying at the Boardwalk Inn - regular room.

The regular one (add in a quick snack in the room in the morning most days) was too much for us! I think we ended up leaving with one CS credit uneaten. And we don't eat dessert with every meal, so we had a pile of those prepackaged cookies uneaten too!

We've also stayed at AKL club level. It was a huge breakfast, then the evening snacks were dinner many nights (it was very substantial, side dishes and meats/salmon and sandwiches for the kids). Some nights we were full, or went to the snack bar and got something extra for the kids.

To me, doing both is quite a lot of food. I'd rather pay as you go on top of club level, as for us it would be cheaper and less hassle of trying to figure out how to use all the credits.
