Dining Plan and Prix Fixe Menu?

Right now I've got the basic dining plan - which I know does not include appetizer at TS restaurants.

If a restaurant has a Prix Fixe option that has app, entree, and dessert - can that be gotten with the dining plan? Or not?

I know when we had the DDP I was able to order from the Pre Fixe menu using the DDP at Chef's de France. If you can't or if there is now an add on charge the menu will noted it .

The cynical answer is that the fixed price menus were created specifically for basic DDP users, to steer them toward the more economical entrees on the menu while giving guests who want that extra course the option to do so.

But if it's something that you like, why not order it? I will never understand the "order the most expensive thing even if it's something you hate" mentality around the DDP.

I prefer to look at it as an alternative for people who want a three course meal and a little from each course. I love an appetizer, entree and dessert but would never finish the entire meal.

I think it is nice that a few restaurants have offered this choice and that people on the DDP are allowed to order it.

I'm not saying the fixed prices menus are bad things - it was intended both as a means to drive DDP users to lower-price entrees and give an option to the DDP users who wanted an appetizer once in a while. The real point is that these menus are essentially designed specifically for DDP users, and are therefore covered by the plan.

I'd like to add that the F! and FoF packages also are on the DDP and include the appetizer. You are also NOT limited on the entrée, appetizer, or dessert choices. These are fixed price meals also, but, you have the whole menu open to you.
