Dining plan and Magic band questions

Not sure where to post this thread but I have a few questions about the new magic bands with dining plan.

This is the first time we will be having the bands and I just have a question. When you go to counter service restaurants does everybody have to go up to the counter and have their bands scanned to order their food. Or can just one person go up and place the whole order and use their band?

One person can go and the meals are charged to the plan. The receipt will show how many meals were used and how many meals are left.

If your purchase is over a certain amount ( even on the dinning plan) you will have to enter a pin. We re a family of five so each meal required a pin number. As pp said, only one person has to tap the band just make sure that person knows the pin.

We don't have a pin for our bands. Where did your pin come from?

When I did online check-in for our resort stay and opted to be able to charge to the room, I had to select and enter PINs for each band that was eligible for charging. If you don't do online check-in, I think you do it when you check in at the resort.

We selected our pin at check in. We never chose to add charging privileges so we had to wait to select the pin at check in. if for some reason they do not ask you to enter a pin be sure to ask about it.

also, I assume you have to take your mug back to your room after eating before you go to the parks, right? it's useless there

We have used the DDP many times and have never had to enter a pin to charge meals to the plan. If you order something that is not covered by the DDP--then that's considered a purchase and you would need to enter a Pin then--same as any purchase paid for using the MB.

Table service locations are the same. The server will have you scan your MB to have the meals deducted from your DDP.

The server brings a device to the table, you touch you band to it and then enter your pin if asked.

The mugs only work at your resort. I have seen people fill them up and drink on the way to the parks, but then you are stuck lugging around mugs all day. We always make a trip back to the room to drop them off.

We never ordered anything that was not covered by the dining plan and always had to enter the pin when the 5 of use purchased meals together, it all depends on the total amount. For one meal My DD and I wanted something different. We went to CS and did not have to enter a pin because.
