Ok, I am seeing a lot of post of people who have meals or snack credits left when they check out of their resort and having to use them up on the last day. My question is we are checking out of our resort hotel next Thursday but do plan on going to a park that day after we check out and then we have a place to stay that night before driving home (not at a resort). We had planned on still having some CS meals available for that last day to eat at whichever park we were at but looking at some other post it seems we may have to have all our meals and what not gone before checking out? How does this work? Or can we just check out of our room but still not check out of the resort until later in the day? Does that make sense?

The credits are available until Midnight following your check-out date. So you'll be just fine using them that day, whether you've actually checked out or not (I don't think I've actually "checked out" of a hotel in years, but that's just me :p)

You may use all of your resort amenities the last day of your stay, including DDP and accesss to the pools at your hotel, etc. A good way to remember is up to 11:59 p.m. on the day you check out, as Midnight is technically the next day as far as the computers are concerned.

You can use meal and snack credits until 11:59 PM on the day you check out so you'll be fine.

Yes BUT we checked out on Monday at 11 am and went to a park. We still had 9 snack credits left on the dining plan, but when we tried to use them to get snacks to take home, they had canceled out our remaining credits! It took a very nice girl at the Studios about 15 minutes on the phone to Pop Century to get our credits back, and then we had to use them right there, because we didn't know if we would find another CM willing to jump through hoops for us! BTW, she was told that when you check out of the resort your dining plan gets "zeroed", but feel free to use them until 11:59 pm!:confused3:confused3

That CM was wrong (or was told wrong). Right from their own information:
"All unused meals and snacks expire at midnight on your package reservation checkout date". (-Source-)

Which, is a little misleading, as midnight would technically be before you checkout (which is why I say midnight following checkout). But I've used them as have many many others after the "checkout" time before, and they worked just fine.

Not much this information can do for you now, but next time you can correct them and make sure they know the real info.

There have been several reports of dining credits being unusuable after check out since the computer upgrades this winter.

So, while they are supposed to be good until midnight, many people have had to get help getting them back. Some even suggest going to the hotel gift shop, after you check out, just to be sure that they are working still.

I haven't heard any incidences recently which leads me to believe its a problem that has been fixed for the most part. Not saying there are isolated cases, but those can usually be fixed by having the restaurant call your hotel.

We spent our last night of vacation at Akl with a room only res. We had enough credits left over from dxdp at the poly to eat lunch and dinner. We had no problem at lunch, but at dinner the mananger at Jiko had to call the poly to see if we had any credits left. It wasn't showing up on our card. It took a long time and was a real hastle. Our kids fell asleep at the table it took so long to get it straightened out.
