Dining plan and DDE?

Does anyone know if you can use both the dining plan and DDE card for the same meal. Example: If you order drinks with your meal that is covered on the dining plan, can you still get the discount for the drinks from the DDE card? Anyone done this? TIA

Yes you can (at least you could in September). We had a large group in September, some of us had the DDP and others did not. We combined credits and paid cash for folks not getting big meals and kids meals. We told the server upfront what we wanted to do and all the servers, especially Kona Cafe, were very accommodating.

Oh dear....now I have to rethink my dining plan choices for Oct. I'm traveling with another mom and our two girls will be celebrating their 13th b-days on the trip. And this mom and I do like our wine when we get together. The DDP seemed like a good deal but since it didn't include any alcohol or wine, I figured I would just stick with my DDE card.
So, I can add the dining plan to our reservations but still use the DDE card for drinks?? That just seems too good to be true. Then, I just know I would add some breakfasts rather than eat in the room if I could use my DDE card and get the discount. Hmmmmm.

Well gee... now I'm confused. Allearsnet says DDE cannot be used in combination with any other discount. So what? They just don't consider the Dining Plan to be a discount? Help... I'm lost! LOL

You have to have them put anything you are paying for, on a separate check. On that check, put your drinks and oop stuff..and if you are somewhere where they take the DDE, (ask first if they will give you sep checks) they will give you the discount.

This is exactly how it's done. You will get two checks. Remember one has gratuity on it, while the DDE one does not. We always tipped the server extra for taking the extra time to accommodate us. We did this for 10 days worth of meals in September and it was never a problem. The servers seemed to have this down pact.

Yes, you can use the DDE card for just drinks. We had drinks at the bar at Pop Century and used DDE card for discounts on only drinks.

We had friends join us at RiverRoast to watch Bob, and they took the card. I thought less than thrilled, but I'm sure once she saw the tip she was happier.

Can anyone purchase the DDE card or is it only available to AP holders and Florida residents?

I believe it's only for AP holders and FL residents.

Thanks for the answers guys. Looks like I'll be renewing my DDE card this June. I'll be saving a bunch of money in Oct!!! And then get to use my DDE at the food court at Pop in Dec.

Just a heads up I tried to use the DDE at ASsp bar in Oct and was refused. I probably should have pushed it but for 2 drinks seemed like way to much fight for a few bucks. I forgot to mention to front desk mgr. Sorry. I was 1/2 asleep and was only thinking of me when I checked out. It was a 6am checkout.
