Dining plan add on once at WDW?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I am having trouble finding it. We rented DVC pts through a member for our room res. I am planing on getting our park passes through mousesavers (or that other website they refer to.) Still not sure if we are going to do the dining plan, so I'm wondering if I can just get the regular hoppers and still add on the dining plan when we check in to our room, even though our hoppers were not bought directly through Disney? I thought I read somewhere that you could only get the dining plan if you bought a package, and that package had to be through Disney. Is this correct? That would mean that I wouldn't qualify to buy the dining package then, right?

To get the dining plan you must purchase the whole package together- tickets, dining, room ressie - all from disney (yourself, or through a TA or AAA) they cant be purchassed separately.

Also any stay on DVC points is not eligible for MYW dining.
