Dining, park hours and the Halloween party

My wife, a family friend and I will be heading to Disneyland in October. As of today, we're 60 days out, and completely stoked.

I have a couple of questions, if you guys don't mind helping me out:

1. We plan to attend the Oct. 19 Halloween party. We're veterans of WDW's, where we're allowed to enter the park at 4 p.m. with our party tickets. Is that how it works at Disneyland?

2. We attempted to make dinner reservations for Oct. 19 at Blue Bayou, but times end at 3:30 p.m. I called guest relations and they said dinner reservations aren't yet available for restaurants located inside the parks, since October's park hours have yet to be released. She then told me that all table service options will be closed during the party. Since the party technically begins at 7 p.m., and assuming the answer to my first question is "yes," do you think a 5 p.m. dinnertime reservation will be possible once park hours are released?

Thanks for any help!

1. Yes you can enter the park 3 hours before the party starts.
2. There seems to be some snafu with October reservations and hours right now, hopefully they will be posted very soon. Yes, I think a 5pm reservation will be possible once everything is posted.

There is a huge thread about Halloweentime that you may want to check out for more pointers. http://www.disboards.com/threads/ha...hread-4-halloween-night-mhp-sold-out.3270919/

Last year, the latest reservation we could get at BB on a MHP date (6pm start time) was 3:30pm. The restaurant wanted to make sure that all guests would be done before the party started. So you might be able to get a later dinner time if the rules have changed, but that was not our experience.

Thanks so much, everyone. We'll check out the Halloween thread.

And hopefully they changed things, @theluckyrabbit, since this is the only day Blue Bayou will work for us and we want to experience it.

Cheers, all!

Even if you can only get the earlier seating, don't be discouraged. We had a blast seeing lots of guests dining in Halloween costumes. The dimmed lighting and flickering glow cubes just added to the eerie atmosphere!

They might make reservations available in the later part of the afternoon, but as theluckyrabbit said, they do stop taking BB reservations early enough to make sure that diners are finished before the party starts. I skimmed a few dates when there were MHP and the BB is listed as being open until 5:00 pm, but the latest reservation time I could find was 3:40 pm.
