Dining package questions

We have 8 people in our party in 2 rooms. Could someone please tell me how the dining package actually works? Is it electronically entered into your room key or do you get paper vouchers for the meals and snacks? My family will be in the parks in the pm, having dinner there. I will be taking my DB with me, but my DM and other DB will need to rest in the evening back at our hotel. Will I be able to take my brother for dinner with me if the rest of his group will be eating dinner back at the hotel.

All the meals are on the key cards! They are divided up by rooms. So if you take your DB to eat and you are paying for it..then use your card. If you want him to use his own meal then ask for 2 checks. We did this when we ate together since it was 4 of us on two different plans.

They had not issues with it.
