We are opting out of the dining plan this year and are looking to add some restuarants in the Kissimee area to our repertoire. We already enjoy Chevy's, Houlihan's, and Bahama Breeze. Any other suggestions for a family of four with a 9 and 7 yr old? Hopefully within a 20 minute drive.

We always eat at girodano's, but I'm originally from Chicago. I miss my pizza it's the closest place for me besides going back home. It's pretty close to Disney. You can also go on Restaurant.com and find gift certificates. We also eat at Steak and Shake once again none near me, and really who can pass up a milk shake, I believe both are on Irlo Bronson hwy. We just ate at both in April and we had no issues.

Sweet Tomatoes may be good too. If you log into their web-site to join their "Club Veg" and provide your e-mail address, they will send you coupons. souplantation.com

My DD's love eating there. There is one close to DTD too.

I would say it can be walked but I wouldn't call it very close.Never walked it but from the Marketplace it will probably be 15-20 minutes.

Where is Girodano's? We have always stopped at Pizzeria Uno near DTD, but would love to try Girodano's. :)

Girodano's is a Chicago pizzeria chain. They are only in Chicago and I think they have 2 in Orlando. They have Chicago stuffed pizzas, also thin pizzas, and some Italian foods, and other things.

There are three Giordanos in Orlando, one in 192,one on Sand Lk rd by International Drive and one on 535 in Lake Buena vista very close to the Pizzeria Uno by DTD.When you exit Hotel Plaza blvd you can see the Pizzeria Uno at the 535 street light,to get to Pizzeria Uno you would go straight,to get to Giordanos you would turn left and get on the right lane,it's just past Palm Pkwy on the right next to a Steak n Shake. It's 1-2 minutes away from the Uno.

It's safe to walk,as in it's a safe area. However I would suggest you look for a taxi from DTD for the simple reason that 535 is a very busy street to cross and especially at the Hotel Plaza Blvd intersection as it's a Disney entrance. From DTD it can't be more than 1-1.5 miles so a taxi couldn't be that expensive.

I never take cabs so I don't know about fares but Typhoon Lagoon is literally across the street from DTD West Side by La Nouba and House of Blues so the fare is probably about the same.

Will check out the website. Thanks to all for the great responses. We have done Giordano's (off Sand Lake) and Uno. Personally, we had a bad experience at Gs; slow service and sloppy deep dish. Unos had a better deep dish pizza in my opinion. I will definitely check out some of the newer restaurants.
