(Inspired by actually being taken out to lunch my boss today)
I have noticed that it is much easier to stay on my diet plan (Atkins) at sit-down restaurants than it is at fast-food joints.
My boss took a group of us to Applebee's for lunch today...my selection the Steakhouse Salad - half size - hold the bread/croutons. It had about cup-cup 1/2 of romaine, 4 slices of tomato, 4 red onion "rings", bleu cheese crumbles, about 4-5 oz of grilled steak with vinegaret (sp?) dressing. (I skipped eating the onions and all but one tomato slice.)
The only "fast-food' item I've found Atkins "safe" is at Taco Time - it's a regular size chicken taco salad: large cup of shredded iceberg lettuce, 3-4 oz of cooked chicken (no breading), 1 oz shredded cheddar cheese with sour cream for dressing (hold the tortila chips that come with it). All the others seem to involve "holding the bun" or stripping the breading off of the food - not exactly the way to eat and stay cleaned up.
I was wondering what are everyone's favorite restaurants/selections when eating out?
