I'm not able to purchase the dining plan offered because my travel agency is not authorized to sell dining plan. Are there any other types of deals to help lower the cost of eating at resorts?

Are you talking about the Dining Card or the Dining Package? Because if you're talking about the package, I find that ridiculous. I'd go to a different agent.

If you are an annual passholder the Disney Dining Experience for $50 is a great deal. We have already recouped our cost after one quick trip to the world and it's still good for a year! I don't believe in dining plans where you prepay for meals, to me there is too much of a chance that we won't eat enough for them to be worth the cost. Good luck!

For folks using the MYW pre-paid dining option, it is part of a "package deal" and must include park tickets to be able to purchase the option.

If you are an annual passholder or FL resident, those are "room only" disocunted reservations, thus they are not eligibale for the MYW dining plan.

The DDE (Disney Dining Experience) card is a 20% discount card that has traditionally been available to FL residents only. This year, it is available to all annual passholders regardless of residency. For all AP holders, the cost is $50. For FL residents that are not AP holders the cost is $75. It is good at virtually all Disney owned full service and buffet restaurants. It is good at Counter Service restaurants in the AK, Pop Century and All Stars, as there are no full service restaurants in those areas.

You can not purchase the DDE card unless you are an annual passholder (they will verify it) or a FL resident.

How is this possible? If she can get you the MYW tickets (which come from CRO Disney) the dining plan is an Add-on, I would think all travel agents selling Disney packages would be authorized. Maybe she's confused on what she's getting you, either way it just doesn't make any sense. You could try the DreamsRes travel agents here on these boards, they are excellent travel agents and specialize in Disney and they can also make your PS for you. Good luck.

I agree with other posters--this travel agent is giving you bad information. Try AAA--we booked the package through them with no problem. If you are not a member, the discount on the room would more than offset the cost of an annual membership.

You could even go to the official Disney website and book your own vacation with the Dining plan, and it shouldn't cost more than a TA doing it for you.

I purchased trip through American Airlines vacations. I get good discounts with them. I purchased trip months ago and only recently learned of the dining plan option. I contacted aa vacations and at this present time they do not have a contract to offer the dining plan(it's in the works). when I found out of the dining plan I attempted to contact disney but they can't add it on because trip was not purchased through them. I was going to cancel package through AA but because I leaving two weeks all hotels have sold out so i'm stuck without the dining plan option. Does anyone have any suggestions?
