We just booked a trip for Nov 14-18, we usually like to have one ADR/day during our trips and were thinking we might want to do an early dinner before the MVMCP the night of 11/15. Any suggestions for a good late lunch/early dinner off the monorail. We're looking for casual for family of 4 with two girls ages 11 and 10. We're not extremely picky but collectively we're not very adventurous either.

Any of the monorail resort restaurants should be fine with the menus and availability being your guide.
Don't want to make an ADR? You can generally eat with minimal wait at Kona Cafe and probably it's equivalents at GF and the Contemporary. You also have a QS eatery at each monorail resort.

Many places won't have ADR's available as you're at about 120 days.
Grand Floridian Cafe or Plaza are simpler menus...salads/sandwiches.

Don't feel discouraged at 120+ days out. Our first trip was booked 10 days before arrival and we found plenty of desirable FPs and ADRs.
Don't forget to check touring plans reservation finder; it's been a real boon for us at various times for highly desirable ADRs like 'Ohana's .

I would look at Grand Floridain Café. It is pretty and offers an opportunity to check out the Grand decorations. The Grand Pianist is in the lobby every afternoon.

Grand Floridian Café (at the GF) and Kona Café (at the Poly) are two of my favorite spots in general, and seating is usually available.

Thanks all, we've already signed on for ADR finders with Mouse dining and have gotten two for other days. I think right now I'm less stuck on where to eat and more stuck on what time since I don't know what our plan is for MK that day given we've never been to the MVMCP before. I'm thinking we will be snacking our way around MK that night so I'd rather eat a light early dinner and maybe do the same if we're hungry late.

I think each of the monorail resorts have a good restaurant that would meet your needs and I personally think they are all good.

The Wave at CR
Kona Cafe at POLY
Gland Floridian Cafe at GF

Personally, I would do GF Cafe. GF at Christmas is absolutely gorgeous. I would try to time it so you are entering MK at 4 pm when they let the party guests in. I believe lunch ends there at 2 pm, so I would try to get as close to 2 pm as you can. If you end early, you could always ride the monorail around once and then go to MK.

You'll want a lunch around 2:30 or so if you can find it since you can get into the party at 4. Last year we did a lateish lunch at Boathouse before the party. Unfortunately it wasn't late enough and we were definitely hungry by the end of the night. There are plenty of cookies, but by the end of the night we were cookied out. They did have one station with a pretzel but needed more non-cookie options.

As other have suggested Kona, The Wave, and GFC are all good options. You may also want to look at Whispering Canyon Cafe which is only a boat ride away. If you can't get an ADR Captain Cooks is a great quick service option.

We are doing a 2:20 brunch at Chef Mickeys before MNSSHP. Not the greatest food, but brunch is a better option than dinner. It’s really convenient and my kid loves it!
