I shouldn't call it "dining" because we did not eat anyplace we had planned to eat. We decided to just eat wherever we were we we were hungry and that was mostly snacking.
We did not get to Epcot until two and had stopped for luch in Lake Wales. We had frozen Capucino's from a Kiosk in the World Showcase. They were very tasty. At about 6PM we found ourselves hungry and outside of Mexico. So we had the combo at their counter service and maragarita's. (Yummm) I thought the food was pretty good and enjoyed sitting out by the water and people watching.
We bought wine from the French Kiosk and settled in for illuminations.
Later we found ourselves waiting in line a Tubbies to buy a half bottle of Fetzer Merlot and Chardonnay for $12 each. It was our own fault because in our haste to get to the World we forgot to do a wine run at Pulix. This was the only place we ever had to wait in line and only at night. Tubbies needs to increase the staff for people hitting there after the parks close. But we were determined to have wine on our patio before turning in. So we waited.
We had breakfast at Tubbies. $6.50 for scrambled eggs, (rubbery, I think powered) bacon (very good and tons of it) potatoes (also very good) and toast. (real butter and nice selection of Smucker's spreads) Starbucks coffee. ($2.15) The breakfast was big enough we could have shared it. It stayed with us for sure.
Later at Epcot we had coffee (real coffee) and ice cream cake at the Expresso place near the fountain in Future World. Sat down outside to enjoy and the fountain got us! Got us good!! It was fun!
Went back to the grotto pool for a little R&R and had and a drink and snack by the Grotto pool. Wonderful!
We decided to skip 'Ohana's and snack our way around the Monorail resorts for the evening. Started at the Kona. Ordered the wings (so good) and the crabcakes. (small but good) and Lupa Lupa's. (Yumm!) We were very full by the time we fininished all those wings and drinks. So didn't eat anything at the other two resorts. But the California Grill is on my list for a must do!
Stopped at Pallio's at the Swan after walk across the Boardwalk. It was about 9:30 and they seated us in a corner with a couple trying to have a romatic dinner and a lady with her laptop at the other table. It did not feel comfortable. We could have asked to be moved but we just decided to order Bruchetta's ($9 each) to go and have it on our patio. The toppings were very flavorful but the bread was too thin. Way to thin!
Next morning same breakfast at Tubbies. Checked out a little before noon and headed off to see some of the other resorts. Had lunch at Mara's at AKL. I so wished Boma's was open for lunch.
Ordered the house salad a chicken pepper pot soup. ($7.50) The salad was huge with a nice mix of greens, the dressing a little too much vinegar for my taste, but the soup was full of flavor. My friend ordered the African salad and said she did not care for the flavor of the chicken. We sat outside on the patio and I have to say I was a little surprised to see how messy it was. But I do love the Lodge. Will plan a stay there for sure. Can't wait to try Boma's.
Not a very exciting dining report compared to the other's I've read here, but we were just taking it all in. This trip was my friends first trip to the World and I had not been in 10 years so we took a leisurely approach to everything. I did check out a lot of menu's and places. I have a seasonal pass so I've got some great "dining" plans for my next trip!
