This is our first trip to WDW. Our plan was to mostly do QS dining to maximize our time in the parks as we'll only be there for 4 days before going on the Dream. It has been brought to my attention that there is the potential for free dining to be offered for the time we'll be there. If so, that changes our plans a lot. I didn't really plan on making many ADRs and our window is now open, so I feel like I should start to figure this out in case the FD is offered.

Our itinerary is as follows...

10/30- Arrive 10am, check in at CR, relax a bit, have late lunch/early dinner at CR then head to MNSSHP around 4. QS at MK for dinner. Is there a family friendly sit down dining option at CR for lunch/early dinner?

10/31- Epcot all day. FW first - Best QS lunch there? WS later in the day. Recommended sit down dinner there? Was thinking about Mexico or Germany.

11/1-MK Not sure whether to do QS lunch/sit down dinner OR sit down lunch/QS dinner. We want to optimize our time on the rides by doing the QS meal when it's a better time of day to be riding and the sit down meal at the less optimal riding time. Does that make sense? I'll also need to figure out where to have the sit down meal. I guess that would depend on whether we choose lunch or dinner and what area of the park it would be best for us to be in at that time. Any recommendations?

11/2- AK then DTD at dinner time. Is there a dining plan option at DTD? If so, we'll do our QS at AK, then sit down at DTD. If not, I was thinking breakfast at Chef Mickeys. QS at AK, then paid dinner at DTD.

Any suggestions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We're not as interested in character dining as we normally would be since we'll see many characters on the Dream.

I'm a bit stressed about the ADRs. We're more "go with the flow" types and it's hard for me to think about where we'll be eating and at what time 6 months from now.

If you've read this far, thank you!

Is there a family friendly sit down dining option at CR for lunch/early dinner? >>Have you thought about making ressies at The Plaza/Liberty Tree at MK?? Both are excellent choices. (non-character dining). Since your at CR, you can also hop on the monorail over to Poly and eat at Kona. Another great choice! Its best to make ressies for either place. Just to be safe.

10/31- Epcot all day. FW first - Best QS lunch there? WS later in the day. Recommended sit down dinner there? Was thinking about Mexico or Germany.>>I would not go with Mexico....instead, hit up Biergarten/Germany!! Better yet, go to Teppan Edo. SOOOOO VERY YUMMY! My & DS11 FAVE PLACE!

11/1-MK Not sure whether to do QS lunch/sit down dinner OR sit down lunch/QS dinner. You need a break to cool down and rest. Being in a cool restaurant is the perfect way to do it! Again, Liberty Tree (also one of my FAVE places) or Plaza or Crystal Palace are GREAT choices. Tony's sucks thou, by far the worst meal in my entire 10 day trip.

11/2- AK then DTD at dinner time. Is there a dining plan option at DTD? If so, we'll do our QS at AK, then sit down at DTD. If not, I was thinking breakfast at Chef Mickeys. QS at AK, then paid dinner at DTD.>>>at DTD, Raglan Road and Wolfgang Puck are both EXCELLENT choices to eat. I think the food at Wolfgang P is better....but at Raglan Road they have an irish band and celtic dancers performing at night (i think children might not be allowed entry after a certain time....maybe after 9pm i think??). Excellent QS locations at DTD is Wolfgang Puck EXPRESS. Some like this place better than the dine-in restaurant! Oh, one more thing. if you decide to eat at AK, Tusker House breakfast is AMAZING.

Have fun! :thumbsup2

Thanks Christine!

So, if we went to Liberty Tree it would have to be before 7pm, right? I read that the restaurants aren't open during the party. I wish there were a good choice right in the CR. :( I think we'll def do Liberty Tree the day we spend in MK, a few friends have rec'd that as well. Lunch sounds like a good idea. Now just need to decide what time for lunch, lol!

Are the sit down restaurants at DTD that you rec'd part of the dining plan?

Thanks again!

I am not sure what are the restaurant cutoff times in MK during the party. But whatever ressie you get via online ressie system is fine. If you get a ressie at 7pm, then clearly theyre open right? They wouldnt release the times unless they were open. If your curious, call disney and find out. or better yet, check the allears.net website for info. Im positive they'd have info there. Lunch is from 1130-330ish I believe. Dinner starts at 4pm. For lunch, you order off the menu. Great choices!! And for dinner, its a family style all you can eat. They serve turkey, beef, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, salad, etc etc!!! Its DELISH!!

At DTD: WolfGang Puck (reg & express), raglan road, planet hollywood, earl of sandwich (QS), Cap'n Jacks, and cookes of dublin (QS) are all on the dining plan.
