Dining in DLR

Ok, so i'm a little less than 2 months out from my honeymoon at DLR. It's the first trip there for both my fiancee and myself. We're staying 9 nights at the Grand Californian and have 6 days in the park. When we go to WDW we eat some small lunches in the parks but most of our meals are off site.

However, I figure since it's our honeymoon, we should make the most of it and "splurge" on some nicer meals. Any suggestions on places to eat? My fiancee is a vegetarian but I'm a die-hard meat eater.

We've already decided on Blue Bayou because it sounds like it has great atmosphere and themeing.

Congratulations on your marriage! We're staying at the GC next week to celebrate our 10th anniversary We are planning dinner at Napa Rose for our anniversary, and we booked the Chef's Table, so that should be fun and interesting. You have to call Napa Rose directly to get the Chef's Table, limited availability and only two seatings a night. That will be our biggest dining splurge for this trip.

I'd also recommend Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen on a night that they have the jazz trio playing -- ask to sit in the club where the band plays, it's kinda loud but they are really, really good. The Bananas Foster for 2 is really cool to order, they flambe it tableside.

House of Blues does a fun Gospel Brunch on Sundays -- not cheap and you have to reserve in advance, but you get the show and a huge Southern brunch buffet. It isn't "churchy", just great music and food -- it was a blast.

Carnation cafe is one of my favorites. Its a little more casual, but has great food. Perfect for a nice breakfast or lunch.

I would SO love to honeymoon at DL. You are very lucky!

You'll want to eat at Cafe Orleans as well.

Do Cafe Orleans for the monte cristo (unless you plan on getting it at the Blue Bayou) and Carnation Cafe for either breakfast or lunch. Those are the only two must-eat-at places in the park, that I can think of.

We love Steakhouse 55, but there aren't many entree choices for vegetarians. Your fiancee would probably enjoy the sides, soups, and salads though.

I would actually suggest doing breakfast there. We loved the bananas foster french toast. Lots of delicious choices and it is generally peaceful and quiet.

Another quick question. How important is Priority Seating? I know it's a must at WDW because of the DDP (especially since there are so many free promos).

It's mostly important for Blue Bayou. I'd book as soon as you know what date/time you want. For other restaurants, you can often walk up, but if you know the dates/times for those, it never hurts to make a reservation.

During busy times (holidays, spring breaks, 3-day weekends), reservations are also suggested for Cafe Orleans, Carnation Cafe, Storytellers, Napa Rose, and Steakhouse 55. Why spend precious Disney time waiting for a table if you don't have to? In general though, a PS is not nearly as important at DLR as it is at WDW.
