Okay, I got a family of 4 going the first week of December. I have 2 girls age 6 and 12. Little one is pretty picky on food. What do you recommend for dessert/dining meet and greets or experiences. We are getting a 5 day park pass and will probably take things at our own pace. I don't want to spend a lot of money but thought we could do 1-2 experiences to help make things memorable. Thanks!

What does the picky one eat, specifically? I can make recommendations once I have that info.

I highly recommend Brunch at Storytellers Cafe at the Grand Californian. The food is great, and there is plenty of variety. This is a character meal.

Naples in Downtown Disney is fantastic. Italian food, with the best pizza! They also have spaghetti, chicken and steak, etc.

Plaza Inn, Flo's V8 Cafe, Alient Pizza Planet, Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta...all should work well for you.

Do I need to book any of these 90 days prior to my arrival?

No. I mean, you CAN if you want to, but its not necessary. Storytellers is easy to book closer in. There is always availability.

Naples you should book in advance, but not 90 days out.

The rest are counter service.

My very picky daughter likes Goofy's Kitchen and Plaza Inn for her special meals. We haven't done Storytellers since she was 2 so I can't say for that one anymore but I'm sure she'd find something.

Hungry Bear, Smokejumpers, and Flo's all have chicken tenders/nuggets. Golden Horseshoe has chicken tenders and a power pack. My daughter thinks the power pack is awesome. It has fish crackers, an orange, yogurt, and either milk or water.

She likes the slices of pizza you can get at both parks. Boardwalk Pizza in DL.

We always get lucky at DTD restaurants too. We normally eat at Ralph Brennan's, Tortilla Jos, La Brea Bakery and she finds something at each of those.

That's a huge plus for DL, picky kids can normally find something to eat.

My picky eaters loved dinner at Goofys Kitchen. Everyone found something they liked.
We did both Storytellers (breakfast)and Goofys Kitchen(dinner). I thought the character interaction was better at Storytellers. At Goofys they just parade through to music,( Minnie and Pluto at ours) although you do get one on one time with Goofy for pictures with photopass photographer included. At Storytellers they came to each table posed for pics that you took yourself, hugged. We had Mikey, Minnie and Chip/Dale
If you have princess lovers the Princess Adventure Breakfast was good, but not so much for picky eaters, it's a more "elevated" dining, but they do have a play on Mickey waffles and chicken strips and fruit. But the one on one time with Pocahontas, Ariel, Rapunzel, Belle, and Aurora had my grandkids in their happy place. Huge doll or princess necklace gift but $$$$ and takes a couple of hours at least.

Our best non character meals for picky eaters was Flo V8 diner, and Carnation Cafe, and Naples in Downtown Disney

With the age of your kids, I would do either the Goofy's Kitchen character dinner, or the Plaza Inn character breakfast. Plaza Inn has the most characters of all the dining experiences. I would consider booking that one 60 days out, just to be sure you get the day and time you want. Beyond that, I would do quick service and see what sounds good to everyone at the moment.
