I am trying to plan which character meal to do and was wondering, do you have to pay in full when making the reservations? Somehow I thought I heard you had to pay now, but I could be wrong. Does anyone know which would be better for a 2 year old? I was thinking Chef Mickey but we have done that one so many times and thought change would be good.

I am not sure about payment required on booking. When I booked our ADR for this September during free dining, I was not required to leave any kind of deposit. Chef Mickey's is lots of fun, but if you don't mind a change, may I recommend the Crystal Palace? We aboslutely love this one, and always have a great time there. Plus the food is yummy. :thumbsup2

Also, DS is three. We have down lots of character dining, and he did enjoy all of them at 2, so no worries there. I'm sure whatever you decide will be great!

Cinderella's royal table does require a CC# for the reservation. I believe if you cancel 24 hrs. ahead, you are refunded. However, if you don't show, your CC is charged for the full amount.

The Crystal Palace was one that came to mind. I think that is the only one we haven't been to yet. I think we will have to try that one this year.

If you are on the ddp you do not pay when you make the ressies but some do require a CC guarantee. If you are not on the ddp you do have to pay up front but other than that you don't have to pay in advance for the character meals.

Just called to make a breakfast ressie for Crystal Palace for our trip and was told they don't have the breakfast buffet. That is the only place we haven't been to yet and I was really looking forward to it. The thing that really surprises me is I just read about it on allears.com, so I don't understand! Has anyone else made ressies for the breakfast buffet? We are going in August, just wondering if anyone else had any problems.:scared1:

I am going to move this to the Disney Restaurants forum so they can help you out. :)

Lol, they deffinatly do do a breakfast buffet at the crystal palace so thats strange.

Maybe they were fully booked or the cast member misheard or misspoke....either way i would ring again and see what they say.

Its a very nice resaurant and im sure a 2 year old would love the characters (pooh & friends)

Crystal Palace maybe for a 2 yr old, depends on the child's favorite character really.

I am going to call again, cause I just asked my sister and she has ressie for there. I really wanted that since our DGS is 2 and I thought he would really enjoy the characters (pooh and the rest). I did get chef mickey which is just fine, that is our favorite but wanted to try the Crystal Palace. Calling now, hopefully I will be ok!!

Ok, now I feel alot better. I made my ressie. I guess the CM I spoke with earlier had cotton in her ears! It's early (8:05am) but figured that would be ok since we can get into the park early. Now just gotta worry about getting DH, DD, DS and DGS up early!!
