Okay...we are leaving in 54 days and I haven't set anything up yet. I'm so new to all of this dining stuff that I need help. We are renting a pool home so we do not have the meal plan included with out trip. My original plan was to eat most of our meals at the house and bring snacks at the park to save money. Now I'm reconsidering a bit.

I would still like to keep my plan for breakfast meals. I would like to set some dining plans up for some days for lunch/dinner but don't want to plan every day. We are arriving on a Monday afternoon and don't plan on visiting the first park until Tuesday. That Thursday DS6 and DS4 have reservations on the Pirate Cruise at the GF. While they are doing that DH and I have reservations at the GF Cafe. That's our only big plans made.

I need some recommendations. We are going 4/17-4/23 and am hoping to make the future Heroe's lunch/dinner meal for one day but that's all up in the air until they open reservations.

Please help me. What would you recommend in how many meals to plan and what days. How much does a person usually spend all together for their special meals like this.

This is all new to me with it being our very first vacation down there. Help!!!

Thanks.

Shirley

First of all they will love the pirate cruise. Second is you must book at least one chacter meal. Read which chacters are at the diffrent places, then see who your children want to see. It really depends on them. If I were staying off site and not on the dinning plan I would do late sitdown lunches. Cheeper than dinner and as much a break as well as eating. Spend at least an hour to an hour and a half for a good rest. We plan ALL meals, but we always do the dinning plans. Good luck planning and Have fun.

Thanks Jonimce for the advice. I think at least one character lunch would be great.

Our boys are 4 and 6 and LOVE all heroes! What would you recommend if you only had to pick one meal?

Thanks.

Shirley

Ok, now that I suggested it I can only find three chacter lunches. Most are breakfast or dinner. The first would be Cinderella's royal table in the MK, very expensive and most boys don't want to see princess's. (altho my 15 yo loved it) :rotfl2: So that leaves Pooh and friends (my favorites :thumbsup2 ) at the Chrystal Palace in the MK or The Garden Grill in Epcot, With Mickey,Pluto, chip and Dale. We did this last year and we suprised my husband with the rehitching ceromony  . I'm not sure they still do it but the kids and your wife would love it. If you can get it, make it a supprise. You get rehitched by Mickey and Minney. :rotfl2:

Okay...I put something rough together. Let me know what you think.

Monday (arrive at 2:30) Dinner at Chef Mickey
Tuesday - MGM Studios: Lunch at 50s Prime Time Cafe of Sci Fi
Wednesday - Magic Kingdom: Lunch at Crystal Palace
Thursday - Pirate Cruise in morning - leave afternoon open
Friday - Animal Kingdom: Lunch at Rainforest Cafe
Saturday - Epcot: Lunch Electric Umbrella or Garden Grill (Rehitching)
Sunday - home :(

What do you think? Some gave me the list of the busiest days for each park and I tried to plan the schedule around that.

In regards to the first night (Monday), if we can't get into Chef Mickey's for dinner, what place would you recommend around Downtown Disney? I figured that would be kind of fun to do as a backup.

Thanks for all the advise.

Shirley

You should try to book Chef Mickey now, the ones having a hard time are on the doning plan. They only allow so many for the plan this far in advance. Some can still book when you arrive. If you can't get that, take the kids to Wispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. Lots of fun. Be sure to ask for Ketchup. Very interactive for the kids. Our favorite Downtown Disney location is House of Blues. But all the DD rest. are really good.

When the kids get on the Pirate Cruise be ready to snap pictures as they walk down the ramp. These are the best pictures in my scrapbook.
Have a great time. I'm going to try to find out if they still do the rehitching ceremoney. :rotfl2: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Started a post about the Rehitching and it seems they aren't doing it anymore.
