Hello again everyone. After much extensive research I still have no clue where to take my dad and step mom for dinner while we're at Disneyland and I need your help. I'm already planning to force them to eat at BB with me and dh. We want one or two more nice dinners, where would you recommend?

Dad and step mom are on a budget unfortunately so I don't think we can convince them to go somewhere too expensive, I would think that that Vineyard place (I forget the name) would be too costly for them.

What about somwehere in DTD like the Jazz Kitchen or Catal? You can check out the menus on allears.net or dlresortinfo.com.

Some of the restaurants at the resorts are nice. There's Storyteller's Cafe which can be either sit down or buffet in the Grand Californian. I've heard that Hook's Point at the DLH is also nice.

I second the Storyteller's Cafe. The buffets are expensive but they have sandwiches and pizza for around $10.

We also like Storyteller's Cafe and Hook's Point. And what about Naples in DTD? We often go, sit outside, take in the sites and sounds of DTD, and share a flatbread pizza and salads (and a cocktail). They also have a full menu, if you don't like to share!

Oh I should have mentioned, I wanted the Jazz kitchen but after looking at the menu realized they're a seafood restaurant and unfortunately my dad hates seafood. Sounded super yummy to me though.

Oh I've never heard of Naples, I'll look into it. And is Storyteller's Cafe a character meal?

I second that. I love Naples and their is always some sort of live musical act near there, usually Drew Tetrick who plays a lovely violin most nights on DTD. You can share an entree at Naples, dh and I have many times. I also second sitting outside, its just much nicer and on cooler nights (not sure when you are going) they have heat lamps going.

I love Hook's Point but its pricey and the menu is pretty limited. Its a lot of seafood although they do have a steak or two as I recall. Storytellers buffet is a bit pricey, but its got a nice selection judging from the menu and a wonderful atmosphere. And you can always order something cheaper off the regular menu. Storytellers is only characters at breakfast.

Good luck, have wonderful trip!

I had chicken that was out of this world at Jazz kitchen ........definatly not just sea food! Stay away from Tortilla Jo's !

My family loves the old Granvilles @ DLR I think it has since been renamed to Steak House 55 or something like that, the food was great there, they are alittle upscale but the prices wasen't to bad to me.

Also Yamabuki @ PPH was really good, thats if you like Japanese, they had chicken.

Also I agree that the places to eat in DTD are pretty good and the cost is pretty good as well. We love Rainforest Cafe, its not upscale or anything but its always a fun experience for us. We live in Hawaii so we don't have anything like that here.

Good luck, and have fun.

Storyteller Cafe has a character breakfast buffet but for lunch and dinner there are no characters.

If Vineyard Room is too pricey, that would rule out Steakhouse 55, Hook's Pointe, and Yamabuki as well. Have you checked out the menus/prices on AllEarsnet.com? http://allearsnet.com/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm

You can find more moderately priced entrees at the Trattoria (and if it's a nice evening, it's lovely sitting outside on the patio), the PCH Grill at the Paradise Pier Hotel, and Storyteller's Cafe (as a previous poster mentioned). All of those places have pretty generous-sized entrees that they might be able to share if they aren't big eaters, especially if they also order a salad or soup - all the salads and soups are generous servings, too.

Though it's not a table service restaurant, I really like the Plaza Inn at Disneyland, they have a delicious fried chicken meal - and one meal plus a side salad is plenty of food for my husband and me to split. All of the "buffeteria" restaurants (French Market, Rancho del Zocalo and Plaza Inn) at Disneyland are actually pretty nice environments - real plates and silverware with a nice outdoor dining area (Plaza Inn also has some indoor seating).

Thanks everyone. My dad just informed me they can afford one 30$ or more per person meal in addition to the Blue Bayou so that opens up so many more options for me. I think the storytellers sounds great and Naples as well. So now I just have to find the menu's and see if I want to go with one of those (or both) or the 30$ per person meal at the Vineyard Room.

Geesh I'm starting to give myself a headache.

As SooterL said, I also highly recommend the Wine Country Trattoria in DCA. The salads are out of this world and it's nice to sit on the patio and enjoy the scenery. It's one of our very favorite places to eat!:thumbsup2
