Dining Cost Question and Changing Reservation

I was able to change my reservation to the "free dining" yesterday. In order to do so, I had to add one day onto our trip and of course, we had to change to the park hopper.
I did this online. Since we are staying in a value resort, I did pay to upgrade from Quick Service to the actual dining plan. That being said, it raised the cost of my trip $1630.
When I was going through this process, I had the dining plan in my "cart" to purchase because I was getting told there was no availability for the free dining on my dates...suddenly there was a hit and I checked out. My online info now says this in my dining area:
MYW Pkg + Dining
2015 Table Service Meals - Adult, 2015 Quick Service Meals, 2015 Table Service Meals - Child, 2014 Quick Service Meals

I don't understand why there are two different years on there. We are a party of five...4 adults and a 14 year old who is not on the child plan, due to her age.
I am so confused and in doing the math, I don't see how adding only one night, the park hopper, and the upgrade on the dining plan (went from a four night to a five night trip) raised my bill that much. Should I call or does this sound correct? Thank you so much for your help!

I don't do the dining plan, free or otherwise, but I do know you have to pay rack rate at the resort to get "free" dining.

Did you originally have a discount on the room?

Two different years = programming oversight.
If you think you should call, you should call.

I think you should call and speak to a live Disney rep. Your Disney statement doesn't say Free Dining, although I don't know if it would say that anyway. Since there are five, I guess you're getting a Family suite? I would call and go over details about which type of room and which rate (preferred or standard), Free Dining or not, 5 adults on QS plan upgraded to DDP. If your booking doesn't show FD, the CM you're speaking with can assist you in finding a resort that still has availability. You might want to consider a moderate (CBR or POR-AB) which have some rooms that can handle a party of five (they have a trundle bed for kids up to a certain height). Since a moderate comes with DDP upgrade already, the price might be comparable.

For five people, paying adult rates, this could be correct. You have the extra night, plus the PH upgrade to each ticket. I'm not sure what the cost is to upgrade from the "free" QS to the DP, but that will be the biggest chunk in the price. Would be interested to see how it all works out.

Call Disney. This seems too high. I believe the upgrade fee is about $19 per night per adult to go from Quick service to Regular dining plan. So, that should add around $500 to your trip. Park hopper added about $350. Not sure what your rack room rate was at value that sleeps 5 but estimate about $250 for extra a night. You are still under the $1600 additional.

Couple other comments:
We have free dining through a moderate and first confirmation that was sent out was incorrect - it stated "quick service meals" - this was a glitch in the system. Also, while all dates are correct - it also stated "2015 Table Service Meals - Child" but all our "children" are adults when it comes to Disney's dining plan.

However, our confirmation does state "MYW Pkg + FREE Dining"

I agree - maybe look at a Moderate if you want the full dining plan - with 5 people it might give you more space and a nicer overall resort. Not sure what is still available.

You definitely need to call. As PP said, IF you have free dining, all your upgrade costs should be around $1000. I also ran the numbers paying for dining with park hopper added, and that was way over the $1600. However, paying for dining and that extra night WITHOUT park hoppers is right at that $1600, so I would call to see exactly what you have on their end.

You should probably call. I'm assuming 7 days only 1 room on your reservation below.

QSD is $41.99 and regular is $60.04. So you pay $18 extra per person a night x 5, so $90 extra every night of your stay = $630
Adding park hoppers is a flat $50-$64 per ticket, assuming a 7 day ticket it's $64. X 5 = $320

Total = $950. The only thing you need to add is the price of your extra one day stay.

Considering you're staying at value, I'm guessing the price of your room is $250ish. That brings you up to $1200. Looks like they overcharged you about $430.

Also if you can stalk the reservation site, you'd save quite a bit by going to CBR which has 5 people standard rooms. You wouldn't have to pay the $90 per night to upgrade plans, you'd probably pay a little less for the standard moderate instead of the upgrade value. Probably save at least $800 this way, thought I'm guess it'll be hard to score a CBR reservation.
